Exclamation can you get pneumonia from vapor?

pneumonia is build up of fluid in the alveoli in the lungs. The alveoli are microscopic air-filled sacs in the lungs responsible for absorbing oxygen. can vapor cause this from prolonged use?

PG tends to dry you out (so to speak), so I would think it would dry out any liquid in the lungs. There's not any scientific studies on it that I'm aware of, though.

I've wondered since my beginning vaping about fluid build up in the lungs. I mentioned it before and got poo pooed. I am kind of more concerned with VG, it is a humectrant. I did an experiment a month ago, I rubbed pure VG on both of my arms and put some on a section of my hair. It was oily at first then it turned sticky and really gross feeling. It certainly didn't absorb into my skin. I couldn't wait to wash it off my arms. I left it in a section of my hair for a day, my hair stayed really oily and kind of sticky in that spot till I washed it.

What did my experiment mean? I'm not really sure. Are my lungs oily, sticky and gross? There was another poster on here talking about really sticky boogers, I know it's grosse, but sounds like my experience of it on my skin and hair.

Still alot we just don't know I guess.

Default a symptom not a cause

    Monkey Man,

The lungs are a moist environment to begin with. In fact, our body adds water molecules on each breath we exhale, via the lungs. Also, getting "foreign" fluid in the lungs is a fairly common occurrence, and our body can handle that naturally...

More to the point, pneumonia is generally caused by infection or sometimes lung injury... Fluid buildup is the result of pneumonia, not the cause.

This isn't to say vaping is completely safe - independent scientific data is lacking. But, imho common sense dictates it's far better than smoking.

    So.... Happy vaping!

Fluid wouldn't be able to build up unless you took in a ton of it. You would have massive coughing fits ..The lungs are constantly moving irritants out. We don't know the long term effects of the vapor but I too, agree, it is better than analog smoke

They use a mix of cool-mist humidifiers, nebulizers, and vaporizers as a treatment sometimes when you get pneumonia. Makes it easier to breath.
