PG in products
Thought it might be a good idea to have a thread for products people consume everyday that contain PG and other that is found in our smoke juice.
I've been fighting a crazy sinus deal last couple days, big headache, and sleepy, think it was a sinus cold. I think I caught it from my dog lol, didn't know that was possible, but she was feeling bad Sunday, you could tell she wasnt feeling well at all. Then 48-72 hours later I was down with it.
Anyway, was taking Tylenol and read the back of it, and noticed it contained PG and PEG.
Interesting, I never would have looked or even cared before finding ecigs.
So there you go, I'm keeping track of how many products I consume contain what I vape.
Tylenol is in almost every home, and contains PG and PEG.

You cant forget food coloring and artificial flavorings.
I went to the store the other day and bought some strawberry artificial flavoring... not enough pg in it to vape it straight (yes I tried lol).. got to go buy some straight pg to vape it in

Here's a list from Wikipedia:
Propylene glycol is used:
- As a solvent in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable and topical formulations. Notably, diazepam, which is insoluble in water, uses propylene glycol as its solvent in its clinical, injectable form.[5]
- As a moisturizer in medicines, cosmetics, food, toothpaste, mouth wash, and tobacco products
- In electronic cigarettes to deliver vaporized nicotine
- As an emulsification agent in Angostura and orange bitters
- As a solvent for food colors and flavorings
- As an ingredient, along with wax and gelatin, in the production of paintballs
- As a humectant food additive, labeled as E number E1520
- As a cooling agent for beer and wine glycol jacketed fermentation tanks
- As a carrier in fragrance oils
- As an ingredient in massage oils
- As a less-toxic antifreeze
- As a solvent used in mixing photographic chemicals, such as film developers
- In smoke machines to make artificial smoke for use in firefighters' training and theatrical productions
- In hand sanitizers, antibacterial lotions, and saline solutions
- In cryonics
- As a working fluid in hydraulic presses
- As a coolant in liquid cooling systems
- To regulate humidity in a cigar humidor
- As the killing and preserving agent in pitfall traps, usually used to capture ground beetles
- As an additive to pipe tobacco to prevent dehydration.
- To treat livestock ketosis
- As the main ingredient in deodorant sticks.
- To de-ice aircraft.[6]
- UV Blacklite Tattoo Ink

The hottest things on store shelves right now might be antibacterial hand sanitizers, as we face a looming swine flu epidemic. I'm even seeing dispensers in the food lines at buffet restaurants, to use before handling anything. So I looked at the ingredients in hand sanitizers today while grocery shopping. Two major ingredients to kill germs: Propylene glycol and glycerine.

To be honest all this hysteria about Swine Flu is exactly that, hysteria.
Our daughter contracted it and suffered the same symptoms of flu for 5 days, after which she was back at work, in a hospital. Initially the hospital had declared that if anyone contracted Swine Flu in her department it would close for 6 weeks, which had her wishing someone caught it!!!
Then she caught it and found that the hysteria had been downgraded to mild concern and the department did not close down but she had a crap 5 days and then went back to work!
Swine Flu is nothing compared to Manflu and that's official!!!
Manflu, the truth!

I think its a nice thing to hear that the chemical we are using is in a lot of ordinary household products etc. That is definitely a good thing. Killing germs in the air might also be a good thing. But I do not know if all of that is 100 percent fool proof in giving it the total Okay to smoke it everyday for a long time. The best study I have read on it so far, is one I think bob posted about how they tested it on chimpanzees and had them breath it in for a few months and did not notice any ill effects. As far as PG being used in household items, it sounds nice, but I think it is irrelevant. The amount being used is hardly anything, and the form of intake is completely different.
It is about inhaling pure PG into the lungs on a constant basis. What are the effects of doing that. Thats what I would like to know. So far we are hearing things like lactic acid buildup, and drying out of the lungs and throat and of course, the word allergy being tossed around here constantly.

Just adding another one to the list..
As I type this I'm digging into some "Little Debbie chocolate chip muffins"..
In the ingredients list, they contain Propylene glycol and also Glycerin..
I think we should ban them, after all, there is antifreeze in my muffins right..
List to be continued.
