The problem with this crap is that no one really knows. Common sense would tell you that E-cigarettes if popular, are a threat to two parties. Two very powerful parties. The cigarette companies, and the patches, gums, and all the other quit smoking aids by big pharma. Obviously, E-cigs are not going to be welcome, and if the FDA can muster up any kind of statistic to make E-cigs sound bad, they will do it for sure.

However, Being that we really do know very little about the true effects of vaping, we really do not know the relative saftey either. So it is basically what side do you want to believe? Maybe E-cigs will really turn out just as bad, however, I believe e-cigarettes might be the future of smoking. Perhaps in the future an interested party with money could produce an ecigarette, that is not just safer than cigarettes, but actually healthy for the body.

Oh yeah btw, there is one thing in the recent articles about E-cigs that I might see some logic in. When they talk about the inconsistent nicotine levels from cartridge to cartridge of the same listed nicotine potency. They seem to have found that the range of nicotine in the liquid is quite inconsistent.

Something like 24-100. That would kind of make sense to me in that the quality control of these factories is questionable to me, and that everyone here seems to have such different ideas of how much nicotine they are really getting. Some feel they are not getting any, while others feel like they are Overdosing on nicotine. Maybe that is the reason why, u never really know how much of the drug you are getting no matter the nicotine rating on it.

you know I wonder if we will see a day sometime in the next 5-10 years were JR Reynolds will start producing name brand E cigarettes. Having tobacco companies such as camel, kool, marlboro, etc, I think that would be interesting and it would definitely fuel the flame of debate on E cigarettes even more.

Sorry to multiple post this thread, I dont think that would be likely in the near future at least. Their assets are invested in tobacco. Snus, oral tobacco, new types of less harmful tobacco products or even cigarettes I can see. But e-cigs is a threat to their current industry. They are in the business of selling tobacco not e-liquid. Unless somehow they can make liquid from tobacco lol.

Bravo, Paladinx, points well made. The worst indictment in the FDA announcement was the sloppy or nonexistent quality control of our products, highlighted by nicotine fluctuations and nicotine in no-nic liquid. Geez.

We don't know squat about how these are made or what's in them. We e-smoke on FAITH. And faith, hope, belief and love won't pass the science test.

Yeah, when I finally step all the way down to no nicotine, I'll be "brewing" my own flavored juice. It's fun to experiment with concentrated flavorings, menthol crystals, Propylene Glycol, and Vegetable Glycerin.

I can see it now.
Me: "Here try this flavor I made..."
Friend: "Holy heck...is that....Apple Pie? / Peach Cobbler / Roast beef with gravy!!!"

"And so forth. It's ridiculous. It's not even funny."

I'm curious as to how much nicotine they found in the zero nic cartridges. Traces would be reasonable and expected, since theyre made using the same equipment as the nicotine versions. Just like how some products with no peanuts have traces of peanuts due to being made on same equipment.

The tobacco-related-nitrosamines they found are also found in NicodermCQ and the patch. Also, they are found in beer, hotdogs, and bacon. I don't like pork at all, but I am saying that they are approved by the FDA for foods and cessation devices.

The FDA is obviously having butt sex with Phillip Morris. Damn. I hope they use a rectal suppository beforehand for cleanliness.
