    Default Visit to a doc

Had to go to my cardiologist today for a checkup. Explained to her what I'm doing with the e-cig and got applause and a pat on the back.

Since I'm s.o.l. right now with the VG blood sugar test (my meter broke, and I am waiting for another one), I asked her about it. She said that she really doesn't think that it should be a significant problem, because we are inhaling it, not eating it. Just an opinion, of course, but, well, she did go to med school.

However, she did caution that no significant research has been done on this aspect of it. No-one has ever tried to inhale glycerin before...

Bottom line, after a fairly detailed discussion, she said it's got to be better for me than smoking, and to keep at it.

    Cool.

    Briar.

Both my GP and dentist said basically the same thing and said it was definitely better than smoking.

If you look at the size of a ml of vg it is highly unlikely it would affect the sugar levels anyway......just my opinion though. I got kicked out of school early.( I think because I was too smart)or not

Briar, It's odd that you posted about this. I just answered someone with the same concerns!

I am a diabetic and take insulin. I test my blood anywhere from 2 to 4 times a day. I am here to tell you that my blood sugar has not risen for the 2 months I have been taking Insulin. I was in the 200 to 300 blood sugar range before and I was vaping.

I saw my Dr. today and she saw my daily log. She was impressed to say the least! It's the first time she hasn't gone off on me for killing myself.

I tell people the same thing, we aren't drinking this stuff! We do more damage to our readings by eating a piece of bread then vaping.

She gave me a new meter today..now I have to figure it out and see how much the blasted strips are going to set me back..with a RX for them.

Another plus, she listened to my lungs and heart and didn't yell about smoking! She did that sonagram on my heart and legs to see how my blood is moving and I had NO problems with that.
    I love vaping!

That sounds like good news! Both for you and for vaping...

Isn't that cool? I was really pleased that my cardiologist was so supportive about it. It's a little scary starting a new thing, and I am struggling with letting go of analogs, but it's great getting support.

Definitely. I quit bread cold turkey. In fact, I'm on low-carb (Protein Power) diet. Lost 40 lbs in a little over a month. (I'm very heavy). That's one of the reasons I'm so paranoid about blood sugar. I am not *quite* diabetic, but I'm addicted to sugar, and try to just stay off of it altogether. It's worse for me than nic, I think.

Oh, yuck - med expenses... My insurance sucks, so every time they prescribe something new, I risk a heart attack - don't know what's worse, the illness or the treatment!

    That's great! Good for you!

    I'm getting there!
    Cheers,
