    There's a knack to them - a bit like an e-cig, really....

I love the smell of coffee but never liked the taste until I tried a Sedansa coffee cartridge, it was lovely.

I don't miss the dread of knowing I was slowly poisoning myself, not looking forward to the future because it would likely mean a slow, painful decline in health.

I haven't had a real cig since 3rd july 2008 and there isn't anything i miss at all. I went down like everybody else looking for an ashtray/ searching for a lighter in your handbag especially when driving then realised i didn't need one.

all i can say is after this length of time if somebody is smoking a cigarette by me now it doesn't bother me at all . I never thought i'd be able to say that.

long live the E:CIG (we Hope)

Miss Diane, my last cig was the same as you, July 3--but I'm turning out a bit differently:

First month I went into 'drool mode' if someone was smoking a mile away--"Can you smell that? Someone has a cig, a real cig!! I gotta find 'em before all that delicious secondhand smoke disappears!"

Second month I no longer felt the need to stalk smokers, but the smell didn't bother me either.

NOW...if I get a whiff of the real stuff--I gag. (Not pipe smoke though...I'll always love that!)

    Here's a couple things I don't miss:
    1. Not having the inside of my teeth scraped for 15 minutes at my quarterly teeth cleaning. (I went to my dentist yesterday and the hygienst asked if I had been to another dentist recently, I said no but I quit smoking a week after my last cleaning and she said "You have no stain buildup anywhere...nothing. We'll change the quarterly to bi-annual.")

    2. The backs of my hands are smooth! (For years I had cracked and scaly hands from washing them 20 times a day, hated the smell of smoke on 'em. They've completely healed. I'm surprised how many people have noticed.)

    3. Everythng else mentioned here of course; along with the self-loathing and wanting to kick myself every 2 months when I got my supply of cigarettes in the mail from AmericanCigaretteShop.com. There'd be 10 cartons of cigs in that box, and I'd be stacking them in the back of the fridge with disgust, shocked that I was maintaining such a deadly thing...

    4. My boss (a health nut) used to make snarky comments to me everyday, every time I left my desk for whatever reason: "Aw Doug, not another smoke-break!" "No Len, just going to the printer..." "No smoking at the printer, Doug!"

Surprisingly, the first day I got an e-cig and brought it to work (and showed him), he supported it more than anyone else. If someone says "Doug, what in the world??" he's the first one to jump in--"Lay off Doug, he's fine."

    He's right.. I am.

I don't miss waking up with horrible pain in my throat and lungs. I don't miss always being out of breath. I don't miss the look on non-smokers faces. Non-smokers treat me like a non-smoker. It feels awesome.

    Don't miss:

Watching Fiance leave to go running, knowing that I can't go because my lungs won't take it.

Getting out of breath while hiking up inclines (we're active - it happened a lot)

That 'panic' feeling when you run out of smokes and have to go to the store RIGHT NOW.

Freezing in the wintertime and baking in the summertime - just to get a smoke.

Stinking. And KNOWING that you stink.

    Semi-annual smokers' chest cold.

Having a coughing fit, and having Fiance (non-smoker) give me 'that look'. "You're doing this to yourself, you know?"

Constant cleaning of ashtrays (I'm kinda compulsive)

Having the house (car, clothes, you name it) stink.

Going without in severe wind and rain
    Having a sore 'lighter thumb'
Worrying I'd die in my 50s, or sooner, in the manner my mum died

I agree with Moon. Also every time I came near my wife she would complain that I smelled horrible.
