Hi SuziQ I would say that your circulation is improving now and this is causing the bleeding. I found the following on 1st Gum Disease.com "It masks signs of infection: Tobacco reduces the ability of blood vessels to carry infection fighting cells, nutrients, and oxygen to the tissues. As a result, the typical signs of periodontal disease (redness, swelling, and bleeding of the gums) are masked. People who smoke may have periodontal disease that is harder to diagnose". I hate dentists and would step up my dental hygiene tenfold before I go to them. Corsodyl is good and Boots do a mouthwash and gel called Gengigel, very good for early signs of gum disease. All the best. |

Thanks for that smokin, I think you are right on the nail. Thanks for finding the right word for Corsodyl as well, haha. I knew it was something like that.

Nadia, I am experiencing breathing problems but they existed before and that's why I started e-cigs. However, I was choking on them as I was regular cigs. I think I was getting too much moisture in my lungs. I haven't choked at all today but I didn't run my vaporizer. I don't know if you're exposed to a lot of moisture, if you have too much juice in the cartridge. More info from you is needed if you are asking for yourself. I also know that Kate, a member, seems to be pretty knowledgeable on this blog. She wears a habit and has a cigar in her mouth. Look around the blog and you'll find her. Click on her avatar and send her a message. I'm new here and I don't know all the ropes. Good luck with your question. Add more if you can. ladybug51 |

I've had a severe cough for the last several weeks, but I'm really trying to chalk that up to a cold + the effects of drastically reducing my analog cigarette consumption. The only respiratory side effect I've noticed directly from e-smoking is the sore throat so many others have reported.

Here is a link to a thread that talks about COPD and how it was improved with esmoking - When the e-cig brought tears to my eyes Here's another about the experiences of asthmatics - Effects of ecigs on Asthmatics Our short term experiences suggest that esmoking is a great improvement over smoking for those with breathing problems. |

(I'm 50 now, ahem). Had no breakouts but my oily skin has dried up a bit. It is winter tho and everyone has their heat on so this happens anyway every year.My yearly winter-long bronchitis has gone away already and I no longer snore! My only different symptom that really has not gone away is clenching my jaws and teeth in my sleep. My jaw would feel tight the whole day. This is new and I noticed when I ran out of working batteries and actually GASP! bought a pack of cigs it cleared up. I'm back on e cigs again and the clenching hasn't reappeared so maybe it's another momentary symptom that just disappears after awhile. It did affect my gums at the time and I also had a gum ulcer.

too much nicotine can cause us to clench and grind our teeth in our sleep-because it acts as a stimulant to the nervous system-grinding teeth in our sleep can cause or exacerbate TMJ syndrome... of course caffeine and liquor also act as stimulants...so they might also have a part to play... Quote:

[quote=Kate;69527]Here is a link to a thread that talks about COPD and how it was improved with esmoking - Here's another about the experiences of asthmatics - Thanx Kate, that thread was very informative. I have most concern about my lungs and cancer. I have read about weird skin conditions on here, eye crusts, smelly urine or whatnot, dry throat... very strange. I come from a family mostly of doctors and nurses and will share any info I get from them on the boards, but 4 now I am still waiting for my ecig to show them in hopes they will purchase/use ecigs and give proper analysis to report. What we do know is too much of anything isnt good for us, ie: water, vitamins etc. |

(coffee, red wine & vaping) ~ guess I'll just add more water and slow down on the vaping before bed.
