Default I used eclipse....

I switched from Eclipse to a NPRO. I found it to be the easiest thing I ever did. Although, I must say that I have had many of the side effects mentioned here. All gone now, excepts some sinus issues.....

I smoked about 6 a day so not too many. I like the idea of no smell but this is more difficult than I thought. Just don't get the "buzz" I like from the eclipse. I am going to keep trying. Wish me luck.

Default Can't do it any more

I've been vaping for 4 weeks and, though I love the idea, and did not even have the urge to smoke an analogue, have had to stop. Ever since I started I've been plagued by symptoms that are like a very bad cold/sinus infection -- runny nose, hacking cough, plugged ears, sore throat.

At first I thought it might be just a coincidence -- vaping and bad cold just happened to coincide. Stranger things have been known to happen. But no -- after an unsuccessful course of antibiotics in the event it was a sinus infection my doctor and I have come to the conclusion that these things are doing bad things to my body.

Off for a day and symptoms are clearing up. Back to regular cigarettes.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I've ordered some Johnson Creek non-PG juice in the hope that maybe I have a PG problem. Will give it one more go. Hope that's the case as I would really like to kick the analogue habit and do like the idea of e-cigs.

I guess that means there is now one doctor who is completely against the use of E-cigs.

I had exactly the OPPOSITE problems.

I had similar symptoms for several months prior to stating to vape. (inc no less than 3 courses of anti-biotics!)

Although not completely back to normal and awaiting a hospital appointment, the only thing that helped give me any relief whatsoever as vaping with a home-made menthol mix.

Leigh, you are a poster person for what we don't know about e-smoking. I know I'm not the only person who feels it's shameful that a product like this was marketed without any testing that would clearly delineate side effects. All reputable drugs have such a listing -- and we consume a drug via inhalation.

Forums help all of us know what other persons are experiencing while using an e-cig, but forum anecdotes are no substitute for a valid clinical trial of many people.

The information that accompanies e-cigs and e-liquid is so woefully inadequate that that alone is a reason for the FDA to ban both. Sad but true. Hope you feel better and find a way off cigarettes. Do read the Alternatives section here and try something besides e-smoking. There are many ways to feed the addiction monster.

I suggest that you rule out the possible allergic reaction to PG by visiting your physician one more time for a test patch analysis before you make more purchases. Here is a link to PG that you can glean info from to take to your physician:

I think for some people when you dry up your skin, sometimes your body fights back and activates the oil glands in over drive. That is why some people with oily skin are told to use facial moisturizer believe it or not. That way it keeps the skin lubricated so the oil glands do not start to go into overdrive.

So PG is deemed safe. Hypothetically cant you just have pg and nicotine as your only two ingredients? If you found a supplier you really trusted who had good quality control, and they had a liquid with just PG and nicotine. Wouldnt you than consider the unknowns to be at least at a minimum?

Im posting quite far into this thread but just thought id share my experience. I smoked analogs for over 20 years and i went cold turkey with the DSE901. The only side effects i have encountered so far are higher sex drive i had the start of E.D. before i quit thats gone, used to get very bad heartburn when i smoked thats gone, food tasted weird at first but now it tastes better(after getting used to taste again lol), i can smell again, house/car/clothes/hands smell much better, fingers are no longer stained, my breath doesnt smell anymore, girl friend loves to kiss me, and im not out of breath all the time. The only negative thing i can think of is for the first few days i had dry throat not sore but dry nothing water didnt solve tho. So far so good i think and its only been about 3 weeks now(check my banner).

Take Care All!!

Well, I am one of those "men" who will not go to the doctor unless an arm or leg falls off (sometimes ONLY IF BOTH!. But I figure I need those

I couldn't explain my symptoms better than above. The problem is I have been vaping with no side effects whatsoever since the end of March 2009. I was vaping and smoking a few analogues as well, but as of last weekend, I have only vaped. About 4 days ago the symptoms mentioned above really hit me hard. I don't think I vaped more, as I was already vaping 4-6 mils a day (most a lot of that though trough inexperience). I also only use 36mg nic as I constantly search for the best throat hit. Well, I must have found it, but now I have a very sore throat, and coughing up phlegm (light green in color which I think is healthy?). I do feel as if I have a cold, but I rarely, if ever, do get sick, let alone colds.

1) Pray for "it's a cold"
2) Cut the nic level down
3) Do nothing, hope it goes away
4) GO back to analogues for a week and see if that changes anything. I never planned on quitting analogues, so going back for a short while is not a problem to me.
5) I just cut some 36mg liquid with glycerin last night, 50/50 and that did not seem to help.
6) OH! And Aspirin does actually work real well with the sore throat. I just can't take 12 a day like I am now.

Other than going to the doctor, any suggestions? I am actually getting worried now, you know, the China factor. Oh, I get most of my juice from two USA suppliers, all respected by forum members.

Many thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

Mike
