can't say i have kate and i get them also, often as seasons change or i am under stress. none this year though which i had though might have had to do with the semi miraculous PG.

i read a worrying report recently that said cold sores and alzheimers were linked. the benefit of knowing this though is that meds that are used to cure cold sores might be able to remedy alzheimers. they're looking into it. here's hoping.
Cold Sore Virus Linked To Alzheimer's Disease: New Treatment, Or Even Vaccine Possible

as an aside, i have learned to deal with them quite effectively. i discovered that when one breaks out if i just dab a slice of lemon on it immediately, it'll shrivel back. when i feel that tingle again - i apply it again. it gives up after about 3 days. no pharmaceuticals needed. just one lemon. I wonder if you have any secret techniques yourself ?

I don't use anything usually on them these days DC, I just let them run their course. I used to use teatree essential oil neat on them and that helped a bit. There was a time when I used Zovirax which stopped them in their tracks the first couple of times and then did nothing.

That link with alzheimers is a bit of a worry. Thankfully nicotine is thought to help with that, I'm intending to self medicate with a low dose of nic long term.

    Default liquid or no liquid

I am a totally new user, started 4 days ago. I found this site after my package arrived and I had questions. (It's a great forum by the way!)
I am looking to cut down my analog smoking, Quest #3's have no nicotine and I have been smoking them for 2 years. e cigarettes may be the last thing I need now to get me off the analogs for good.
So after reading a bit of readiig in the newbie section, I ordered a sample pack from Johnson creek today with a bit of each flavor.
Now I have read all 200 plus posts in this thread and I am wondering if I should just stick to the 0 nicotine cartridges and forget about flavors and blank cartridges.
Or, do you reccommend flavors as a treat once in a while and regular cartridges as an every day vap?

not sure what you mean. if you dont usually take nicotine, there is no reason you should start taking it with e-cigs. just use no nic liquid and blank carts in what ever flavours you can get or just buy no nic carts.

Sorry, I'll clarify. Is it safer to do 0 nicotine cartridges as they come or (because I'd like a bit of varity) 0 flavored liguid to put into blanks?
I've read that the flavored liquids are better tasting than the cartridges that come with the e cigarette.
However after reading this tread, I'm thinking the less ingredients, the safer the vapor. Is that correct?

i think your guess is a good as mine. some studies on some liquids maintain that the all the ingredients in them are safe for consumption but we're the real lab rats.

you could use just straight PG or VG and add some 100% natural flavours like bickfords or some of the Lor anne range if you want a taste and to go perhaps the safest route. but i'm not qualified to give any exact advice really..sorry

From when I can remember, I suffered from cold sores. Seems like one would no sooner go away, then I'd get another. That went on for years and years and years.

About 8 years ago I read that 50mg of zinc a day would get rid of cold sores. I took one 50mg tab a day for one year and have never had a cold sore since. I never took them again after that. Coincidence? I don't know, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Hi everyone! A quick check in. I've been working on a wedding I shot finally that I'm feeling better! Stopped choking on the ecigs. I haven't run my cool mist vaporizer to moisten the air? No coughing for two days now. See Doc tomorrow again.

Mr. Darcy and everyone who reads this. Do not drink anything for an hour - 2 before bed and make sure you do your business right before lights out. My sister found out we need 5 hours of unbroken sleep for our bodies to produce the right amount of (serotonin: a substance in the blood that causes blood vessels to constrict and aids in blood clotting; hydroxytriptamine. It is an indole, chemically related to adrenalin and hallucinogenic drugs, that also occurs in the brain and in smooth muscles of the intestines and functions in brain chemistry.) Just a light wake from say turning over won't effect it, but getting up to go will.

We have all been going through changes to the e cigs and having different symptoms that I'm sure is interrupting our sleep patterns and I see side effects mentioned that could[/B] be related. It's worth looking at. I am going to watch this and adjust as needed to get the 5 or more hours needed.

My sister has breast cancer and has been doing a lot of research on treating it holistically. Now she's helping me out with my lungs. She knows her stuff.

Mr.Darcy, she told me to have my vitamin D3 checked. It has to do with asthma and different breathing problems. It could help us by researching this out. I'm sure Wiki. could help.

I guess this turned into a longy. My best to all. I'm almost through with these photos and I will be checking in more. I just don't know which thread is best to go to for normal this and that. Kate????
