In addition to what Satire and I have said below, another culprit could be adding to vaping side effects.

A vitamin D deficiency occurring more so in the winter can have a big effect on our breathing. My sis did a lot of research on asthma; my neice had it bad! Her vit. D was almost depleted. A simple blood test will tell you. Had mine tested last week and found I am. Mr.Darcy and I have talked on this site about it 1-2 pages back. All of this is worth reading for us vapers.

Winter/less light months plays a role in a lot of the symptoms listed in here. Our side effects could be in conjunction with others that aren't really related like a cold or bug coming on. Sun is important too. Because the days are shorter, we get less or none.

We all should be exposed to sun in one way or another 10-20 minutes per day.We should also be getting at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. All this effects our mental and physical well being.

Also glycerin (not pg) is known to cause headaches, nausea, vomiting, and mutation (with chronic use), so switching to PG might be wise. I'm working on a write-up that has a list of every eliquid ingredient that I have seen listed and what is known about its safety effects (I know I said that a month ago but I had finals and ran out of stimulants and just got more yesterday so its back to the grindstone) but I thought I would give advance warning about the Glycerin mutation capability and if anyone wants the reference for that just msg me, or just wait till I finish the list and I'll put references for it all.

I've been vaping for over a month now and for the last two weeks i've had bad bronchitis and some Mouth Ulcers.

I've been using my Albuterol inhaler for the bronchitis, I've read that anti-biotics will make bronchitis stronger in the long run so i didnt take them this time. It was suggested by someone that quit smoking and got bronchitis to use an expectorant and not a suppressant for the cough as to get it all out of the lungs.

The bronchitis is getting alittle better but i still can't get a full hit off my e-cig with out coughing.

Hopefully when the bronc goes away i can really start to enjoy vaping again.

    Hi,

I've had a lung condition for some time and had to quit or die. The albuterol inhaler will cause white patches/ulcers. You need to rinse your mouth out each time you use it. The doc doesn't tell you but the instructions inside do. I just swish a little water real well and spit.

I personally wouldn't use antibiotics unless on my death bed or close to it. They are so bad for the body and you build up an immunity to them after a while if taking the same one several times. Your body has a way of taking care of itself unless you really get bad. People suppress fevers. The fever is the bodies way of fighting what's wrong.

You can take a cough suppressant with an expectorant in it. It calms the cough down and when you do cough, it's productive. And yes, the bronchitis can make you cough when you vape. It did me for a few days. Robitussin DM is good and there's usually a store generic brand of it. Same exact ingredients; less money.

Maybe you can vape with the supressant. If not, a cig. will be worse on the lungs. It needs to heal. Vaping might make you cough, but you won't get the crap that makes the bronc. worse. Rest, lots of liquid, and healthy food. Rest is real important. Hey, that old remedy of chicken soup really works. Just don't buy crappy soup. Buy the real broth and throw some things in it. Like your own noodles and some real chicken or vegetables. It really helps.

Hope you feel better soon and I hope this helped some.

Here's an interesting symptom I've been getting (first post by the way, hello everyone):

This has happened since I stopped analogs.

When I am falling asleep, I have been hearing a strange noise (it sounds like stretching or tearing, but very high pitched like a pulse-dial (rotary) telephone ringing. The onomatopeia is either zzzzzzzzzzzRRRRch or VRrrrrING! If you try to blow air through the corner of your mouth so that your teeth create bubbles you can get a similar sound. It is accompanied by an "electric shock" sensation in my head (also known as a Brain Zap and will be very familar to anyone who has ever taken a Serotonin and Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor such as Effexor and some of the other new antidepressants).

    [pseudoscience]
It could be due to altered brain chemistry since I am probably getting a different nicotine blood concentration.
    [/pseudoscience]

This is, believe it or not, similar to something called

    EXPLODING HEAD SYNDROME

...I suggest googling it as I cannot post urls...

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else's head is exploding

    Hi and welcome,

You seem to be knowledgeable in the brain's activity in regards to neurotransmission from your wording. I am knowledgeable of this also but do not care to divulge why. I personally have not had any changes in brain function or reactions since I stopped cigarettes. Let's think on this and what really is the question you are asking and why.

All I am doing is omitting everything that is in the cigarette except the nicotine. I am however adding the PG and any additives in the flavoring. I personally have not been affected in any way since December 9th except from coughing due to a lung problem that has cleared considerably since I stopped the cigarettes. The additives I speak of can be found in common day foods, food additives, and what not. I might add that there isn't any long term studies done that I know of as to the results of smoking e-cigarettes. Most side effects are from too much nicotine or too little. Simple so far and adjustable as we use them.

I would suggest you talk with your Doctor if you are on a medication for the reasons you described. It is quite possible that they are not related at all and you need to seek medical advise in regards to what you are taking.

If you feel they could be linked, I would discontinue use of the e-cig immediately and talk with your health care provider before using it again.

I knew they were too good to be true. Yes, they helped me stop smoking and cured my ingrown toenail, but now... they are going to explode my head?

    Hi,

Nicotine, as well as nicotine patches, increase the level of wakefullness you will experience, while drifting off to sleep.

This will result an increased level of lucidity while approaching the borderline of sleep, which may result in various hypnanogogic hallucinations that are also commonly experienced during sleep paralysis - like the buzzing sounds you hear

They are not real bodily sensations, but simply the result of increased wakefullness at the borderline of sleep.

Nicotine is popular supplement among lucid dreamers for example, who try to become aware and alert during dreams. Nicotine has also been reported to result in more vivid dreams.

Another substance with the same effect is galantamine, which inhibits acetylcholine reuptake in the synapses. Nicotine actually attaches to these receptors increasing your overall level of wakefullness.

Pleasant during the day, but annoying when drifting off to sleep, making your mind alert and awake when it ordinarily isn't.

Good for those who like to be alert and awake while dreaming, but bad for those who only want to sleep.
