Hello all... i have been vaping just over a week now, and the first three days i experienced the stuffy nose and sneezing symptoms, a little dry throat but now the symptoms are gone. No muscle aches or acne. Love vaping..don't think i will ever go back to analog.

I was a heavy smoker and I switched to E-cigs 2 weeks ago. I haven't smoked a cig since which is a miracle since I've been smoking heavy for 8 years. I've tried all drugs/patches to no avail.

    Symptoms:

    1. Chest felt weird. Lung capacity increased but I felt like something was odd with my breathing. I don't think I was used to my increased lung capacity. Everything went back to normal after a week. So this was a good thing

    2. Increased acne but its slowing going away

    3. Increased sense of smell. After the 3rd day I noticed how smelly my apt was.

    4. Coughing up brown spotted phlegm in the morning. This went away however I noticed after I vape and I cough in the afternoon the brown spotted phlegm returns. I don't know if its b/c my lungs are still trying to clear out of if its the coca-cola e-juice.

All in all E-cigs probably saved my life since I haven't touched a cig. I love this product and I love this forum for introducing it to me. My wife thanks you all too.

Well, this is my first day of e-smoking. I have been vaping pretty much non-stop with 36/mg e-juice (and I only smoked about 15 cigarettes a day). I cant seem to get rid of the damn craving for an actual cigarette! Im gonna stick with it though.. ><. So far I havent noticed any of those symptoms except maybe thats why my right bicep was twitching all day!! All day! Wtf!?!? Who knows maybe Ill be lucky and my only side effect besides wanting an actual cigarette will be bicep twitchs . Great thread.

    Default Symptoms.....

I've been doing this for six weeks now, smoked last cigarette on March 10th.

I've had a variety of the symptoms listed here, all have gone away but I've noticed two that remain.

    1. Weight loss--- not a ton, i've been shedding maybe 1-2 pounds a week. total loss now about 6 pounds. I suspect it might be caused by less snacking (vaping instead...) but its hard to say as I feel like I'm still snacking and certainly eat an incredibly unhealthy diet. The weight loss has been steady, not water loss or anything.

    2. Some of the hairs in my nose appear to be turning white/gray. I've never noticed this before and didn't see it listed hear, but wondering if the juice could be causing this. Has anyone else noticed anything similiar? Gray hair doesn't run in the family, I'm only 40, it just seems strange that it seems to have started within the last four weeks.

Otherwise, everything else is good, I suspect I am finally getting some sense of smell back. I was smoking Eclipse prior to this (my wife has asthma, so the reduced second hand smoke was of benefit to her) which because of the Eclipse heat rather than burn factor there was very little second hand smoke in my household.

My wife is going to her asthma doctor next week, I'd like her to ask him about the merits of e-smoking vs. traditional and get his opinion. Does anyone have any suggestions on info I can/should send her with?

Been vaping for a week and have been getting dry skin on my face. All I have vaped is the "sample carts" that came with my starter kits. Dry Areas include the upper part of my eyelid (just below the brow), and along the naso-labial fold just above my 'stache.

Does a person develope a "tolerance" to the sensitivity? Should I go to VG fluid only?

Yes, this is a side-effect I'm having but I'm not sure if it's the PG, the VG, something else in e-cigs and/or lack of analogs (possible if unlikely) or just a random coincidence caused by something else in my life as yet unidentified. I suspect it's the PG* but there also I don't know if it's because I'm inhaling it or because it's in the atmosphere from the exhale.

    * I would prefer just to use VG exclusively but I have a few nice flavours that are available in PG only

Thanks for the info, side affects were something I've been wondering about.
This is my 1st day vaping and also my 1st post. I'm impressed with this forum, very helpful. :-)

I've laid off the vaping this weekend, just one week from starting. Had chest pains for a few days (that I put down to indigestion - there was belching involved!) but then, on friday, suddenly got dizziness, nausea, and generally felt really dreadful for hours, as bad as I've ever felt in my life - very worrying. The Doctor checked me out but couldn't find anything so just gave me some anti-nausea tablets (that didn't work). Have felt a bit better over the weekend but still getting the chest pain and some occasional nausea/dizziness.

It may have nothing to do with vaping, hope not, but I've stopped for now.

I'm at about the week-and-a-half mark, and I've noticed only a few symptoms. Mainly sore throat, dehydration, and night sweats.

The sore throat went away after a couple days, so I put that down to my body getting used to vaping. Haven't had it since, except for about 15 seconds here and there after taking a good monster hit. :P

The dehydration kicked in after about 4 or 5 days, because at that point I was still only drinking as much water as I always have. Remedied that by drinking more (read: TONS!) of water. Now, if I'm not sleeping or vaping, I'm probably drinking another glass of water. In itself, that's probably actually a good side effect, hehe.

The only thing that's stuck around are the night sweats, however I only seem to get them every other night or so. They aren't horribly major, but enough to make me slightly uncomfortable when I wake up, lol. I put this down to a slight PG intolerance, but it's not severe enough to make me switch to VG-only just yet. Too many good flavors I'd be missing out on, and I don't trust myself enough on the DIY stuff. If it's gets too unbearable, I'll consider it, but for now it's just not at that point.

    As for the good:

I'm already feeling my breathing improve, my pulse has slowed considerably, and I don't get winded walking up a flight of stairs anymore. In fact, in a couple weeks I may be ready for a marathon or two! (Just kidding, but man is it nice to be able to breathe again!)

Taste buds and smell are also returning. Unfortunately, I'm finding that unlike most people, I really did like the taste of analogs. But I've been able to keep myself down to just one a day so far, which is far better than 20-30, so I'm happy.
