Seems to me all these symptoms are common to smokers quitting cigarettes. And as you say, a slightly incorrect new nic reigime might account for (some of) it too.
I think the real test would be to go cold-turkey on the cigarettes with no vaping...if you still have the maladies, then you know it is cig withdrawal not vaping. That said, it would be a remarkable coincidence if the symptoms of quitting cigs happened to be exactly the same as the symptoms of starting to vape!
I've developed small round bruises on my knees.
This may be more symptomatic of my sticky 801 battery then anything else.![]()
Im 16 days out from smoking and the first thing that happened was a VERY sore tongue really bad and it hurt....Still does but not as bad... I also have bad, bad night sweats like I just got out of a pool...Anyone else, have the tongue issue....![]()
Nothing but good side effects of my one month's vaping to note from my annual check up this year. BP had been slightly up at the surgery, (prolly nerves cos I don't care for needles?) but has been normal every day since.
Blood tests for cholesterol both kinds are low, thyroid normal, kidneys normal.
Said the Doc: they're such good tests I won't need to see you for 3 years. It's not often we over 60's hear those words.
Now I'm a bit miffed by that 'cos I wanted to keep telling the good news.

That is really, really great news, congrats.
Could I ask, were the blood/thyroid/kidney/other checks looking for specific problems (cholesterol for example) or were they general checks that would have picked up any vape-related nastiness in those parts of your system?
I'm thinking that if vaping were causing some kind of toxic poisoning (say if atomisers were degrading into the vapour) then surely that would show up in blood tests, wouldn't it?
When you're 60 plus and a lifelong heavy smoker dependent on thyroid supplements, they check you out pretty good! I'll go on needing the thyroxin all my life, and I'm phasing out asthma preventer medicines because I have had no real symptoms for ages now, even before vaping, and no smoker's cough or wheezing since vaping, but other than that no chronic conditions and so the blood tests would be the usual range for folks my age.
I think it would have shown up in feeling unwell, but I'm not a doctor. What did strike me was that the blood samples were red, not the "usual" violetand I'd expect to see fag related rather than vape related nastiness, wouldn't you?
Better the little risk than the Big Fat Certainty, no?
PS Just remembered: my atties never degrade anyway - they expire healthy and young on passthroughs. Therefore shall take up the passthrough again, and avoid any chance of degradations.....hehehe

3.) Hiccups - Also caused by a lack of air exchange in live-lung capillary vessels. The hiccup action aids in the unclogging of small blocked passages which have constricted and filled with thick mucus. (After heavy smoking, and while stressed, these symptoms can occur without stomach air/gas being present.)
It goes away by taking a few deep breaths, and one deep breath prior to inhaling a restricting gas like carbon-monoxide or carbon-dioxide saturated vapor. (It is the opposite reaction of hyperventilating, but similar a situation.)
Yes, Acne is a common issue with quitting smoking. This is also related to stress-levels as well as toxin levels in glands being excreted.
Multiple, small, mouth-only puffs, like smoking a cigar, can help reduce some of the associated cross-over symptoms.
Remember, cigarettes are also filled with other speed-like stimulants. Nicotine is only the chemical that is responsible for the craving, not the, "high". Cigarettes are also filled with urea for flavor and formaldehyde for smoothness. This along with many of the hunger-suppression chemicals, which mess with your digestive track, are no longer present in an e-cig. (Essentially, many of these symptoms are your body reacting to the damage it now feels, which was caused before, and suppressed by the anaesthetic reaction from normal cigarette chemicals.)
You get a similar reaction if you eat McDonalds every day, and suddenly stop... or never eat there, and then start eating there. Your body makes a temporary adaption to the new foreign chemicals, or begins to show signs from protecting your body from elements that no longer exist within your body.
Gave vaping another try yesterday. This time using a different juice (switched from menthol from e-smokeytreats to Chocolate Almond Dec. from Johnson Creek). No throat issues this time but my stomach is not feeling too swift (lots of indigestion, acid reflux, etc) and I also had some very strange vivid dreams (apparently the mafia is after me, not to worry the FBI is on it), quite a bit of anxiety/panic attacks, and my head feels "odd".
Vaped once more this morning but going to lay off again for a while. I'm still determined to give this a fair go but if these issues persist I don't think I'll be able to keep going with it.
FYI For an acne breakout, try and aspirin facial. I do this every other day and it keeps my skin clear:
1 packet of BC powder
a few drops of water
2 drops of honey
Mix in your hand
Rub on your face (it is a great exfoliant)
and leave it for a few minutes
Rinse and tone
