A positive side-effect: I don't have to turn up my car stereo as much because the window(s) don't have to be open to let out the smoke.

By the way...for any of you who are concerned about heavy metals, take a chelated mineral complex (especially chelated zinc). They remove heavy metals in the body and certainly do you no harm, even if you don't have any heavy metal problems. (I can't even hear AC/DC anymore...LOL) This is the same type of therapy, albeit lower dosages, that you would get in a hospital for serious heavy metal problems.
When I first got my M401 Pilot kits (one for myself and my lady) we were worried about adverse affects from PG due to eczema, but we didn't count on it affecting my lady's asthma. A few puffs in and wham, asthma attack. She tried it a few more times to be sure throughout the week, with the same results. We used to go jogging a lot and found out she can't jog in the early morning fog or when the humidity is really high, due to the moisture screwing up her asthma and lungs. I never thought about the vapor and how similar it would be due to the moisture, but it really gives m'lady a hell of a time. So now I ended up with her kit as a spare and she's back to analogs.![]()

Sorry to hear that Sheamous.
Before giving up on vaping completely it might be worth trying glycerine and propylene glycol neat - no flavours or nicotine, to check if it's to do with them or not. It's possible that the flavours or nicotine might be acting as irritants. If the cause can be isolated then you can reintroduce the other things.
That sucks. I *can see how they can effect an asthmatic. (does steam in the shower bother her too?) Oddly though I thought it would be good for someone who has asthma- since my sons breathing treatments are basically water vapor and meds. I thought that these could even be portable nebulizers of sorts if we could adapt the carts to hold more. lol
I am stunned that she can smoke at all!

If I ever saw an amputee getting hanged, I’d probably just start calling out letters.
Could it be the PG itself? Like Kate says: might well be worth trying the alternatives (and also trying without flavor, to make sure it isn't that).
Sure hope it's one of these, so she can still vape!
Coughing
Wheezing (especially in the morning)
Slight headache the first few days
Couldn't quite get through reading the whole thread. But the impression I got from the pages that I did read was that many believe that one of the main reasons for most beginners syptoms could be due to smokers flu.
My experience is a lot different than most people here in that i started vaping after I had already quit smoking for a few months. (Long story, but the whole thing started off as trying to sell the idea to my bro who is a heavy smoker).
I have been vaping for two weeks now, and most of my days are marked by coughing and waking up wheezing. I don't have the phlem discoloration like when I used to smoke, but it definitly feels closer to my days of smoking as opposed to not smoking at all.
I'm sure all ex-smokers can remember back to the first days of trying to ignore the nasty side effects of cigarette smoking. I'm now wondering if we aren't trying to do the same was vaping.
Shihab, I for one have never had all those side effects from vaping except at first and my doctor told me had smokers flu. I don't have any problems now from vaping. My doctor told me it could last a while. My doctor knows all about my vaping.
I know that different flavors can effect you, Allergens come in all flavors (pun) and all products are capable of causing allergies if ingested.
actions speak louder than words, do a iittle everyday to save our PV's
Well, after trying a VG liquid she got the same result, heavy wheezing, severe shortness of breath and chest pains. We almost went to the ER, but thankfully found her inhaler. Sort of afraid and disappointed now, not sure we will try further investigations into her vaping vs. medical issues, except for advising her doctor about it. For now asthma has won. I'll try to keep you posted if we find anything new, for now she is going non-smoker cold turkey.
Again I don't think it is necessarily inhalants being the issue. She's smoked cigarettes for about five years now, even though se shouldn't be. Regular cigarette smoke only affects her breathing if she exercises shortly afterward. Yeah I know, how dumb. I always try to talk her out of that, but she does it anyhow. Stream in the shower does set it off, so she doesn't take many showers hot enough to make steam. Her issue I think is entirely related to the vapor and/or any kind of moisture entering her lungs, but I will keep you guys posted. Either way, individuals with similar issues should probably be very careful when attempting vaping.
I also don't want to scare anyone out of vaping or eCigs either, I myself have had great success with them. Coughed a bunch of black stuff up for about a week and half, got my smell and taste buds back, smoker's chest pains went away, and ran five miles yesterday. I'm feeling great and glad to have found vaping and these forums.
Real sorry to hear that for her Sheamous (and happy for your own success of course!)
I have one last idea, that may or may not work...
Maybe you could contact smokeinduece (sp?) who sells the i-inhale... first off ask him (I don't know this myself) if the i-inhale, when using tobacco or herbs, is giving a dry or a wet/damp vapor.
It could be dry, I would think... and in that case, if she can't get away from the cigarettes of course (if she does make it, always better!) using the i-inhale to vaporize tobacco would at least be better then smoking it?
Anyhow, does seem worthwhile perhaps to ask about it if going cold-turkey doesn't work out...
