At first I thought it might be just a coincidence -- vaping and bad cold just happened to coincide. Stranger things have been known to happen. But no -- after an unsuccessful course of antibiotics in the event it was a sinus infection my doctor and I have come to the conclusion that these things are doing bad things to my body.

Off for a day and symptoms are clearing up. Back to regular cigarettes.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I've ordered some Johnson Creek non-PG juice in the hope that maybe I have a PG problem. Will give it one more go. Hope that's the case as I would really like to kick the analogue habit and do like the idea of e-cigs.
    Leigh,

The same thing happened to me and my boyfriend when we both started smoking e-cigs. We both had terrible (and I mean terrible) sinus infections and sore throats big time. I'm a singer and I've never had such a reaction like this from smoking before, so I have switched back to my 5 traditional (ultra lights) a day.

The only affect vaping has had on me since I started was weight loss. I have lost a total of 8 lbs since and am slowly working my way back down to my weight when I used to smoke 2 packs a day - about 4 years ago. It has curbed my urge to snack and has been great since.

I get a weird sensation just below my right shoulder blade. Kind of feels like a tingly almost burning feeling. Has been happening ever since I started e-cigs.
When I use higher nic it's way more noticeable.

When I first started vaping I was using 0 nic and completely went cold turkey from analogs.
I had headaches, a few Very angry days, jiggery nervousness, Slight depression.
I ordered some nic juice and now am bouncing up and down with strengths from 6 to 11mg.
I definitely still have a nicotine hunger/withdraw thing going on. I want to get completely off the nic but have to find a juice that I can tell myself is good enough and then go through nic withdraw again. I get dry throat as everyone else mentioned.
If I use 24mg. I really notice that annoying tingling feeling in my back shoulder blade area so I dilute my 24mg and also my 36mg.
I made the mistake of trying one drop of 36mg. on my atty and it was way too strong for ME and I felt sick from it for several hours. lightheaded/nauseous
I think the fact that my lungs are damaged may be why I am more sensitive than many here on the forum.
My morning Nasty cough is GONE now since vaping. I can breathe deeper.
I feel 30% better so far and have only been vaping since may 30th full time.
I have had a few analogs but now my tastebuds aren't coated with brown funky from smoking so when I have had a cigarette they don't taste the same any more. In fact they taste like the smell of an ashtray that is full of old butts.

I'm a week in now... I haven't experienced any differences, until today... I was taking a nap, I woke up and my mouth was SOOOOOOOOOO dry like really I almost couldn't move my tongue because it was stuck LOL I guess thats common, but it's odd that today is the first day, a week later.

Most amazing and unexpected effect I've had is happiness! I don't know if it is the excitement of finally having an alternative to smoking that actually works, or the fact that my children are so thrilled and relieved that I finally stopped smoking (and I no longer have to feel like a weak selfish mommy by making my kids worry) or if it's because I physically feel soooo much better and less run-down, or what. It's probably a combination of these things, all of which I am loving

The only even vaguely negative thing I've noticed is that I had a small breakout on my chin (same spot I used to occasionally get them as a teen). No big though, and it's mostly cleared up already with a bit of extra attention to my skin care routine.

I quit smoking for a month before I got my e-cigs. I was very irritable and gaining weight. The day I quit I started working out twice a day to keep the weight off. Didn't help - 10 lbs in one month. Every time I quit smoking in the past I usually got a really bad cold. This time I didn't. I've been using my e-cigs regularly for 6 weeks now and I'm much more content and I've dropped all the weight I gained. No more sbmokers cough and don't even need to think about Viagra (not that I ever did, but I think you get my point). The only negative symptom was a dry throught for a couple of weeks and the fact that my fingers constantly smell like e-juice from constantly reffilling cartridges.

I have nada -- other than the occasional sore throat.

The benefits so far -- can play golf without being worn out, my teeth are getting whiter, and my clothes don't stink anymore.

Alot of what I'm reading here seems to be common symptoms of quitting the analog cigs. I certainly don't want anyone to take this list as a "Your ok, don't worry about it" kind of thing. It is your body and you know it better than anyone else. With a quick search on the web though, you will see what I mean....

Depression is common in the short and long term. In the short term it may mimic the feelings of grief felt when a loved one is lost. As foolish as it sounds, a smoker should plan on a period of actual mourning in order to get through the early withdrawal depression.

I know that for my personal experience, I have had some of these over the last 2 weeks since I started vaping. It seems to add up. The quantity of nic that I am recieving from vaping is no where near the amounts I would get from analogs. Therefor I'm going to be going through some withdrawals as my body adjusts to the new lower levels. Also, with the smoke clearing out of my lungs, some common cold symptoms have appeared. Sore throat, coughing and running/ stuffed nose. For the first week, I was a bit on the 'hard to get along with' side but that along with the other symptoms have mellowed out.
Towards the begining of this week, I thought my ADD was kicking in, but it could also be contributed to the nic levels. By thursday, I was fine (I never take meds for the ADD), my body just finally adjusted. Thank god too as I had a public speaking gig out of state and was wondering what kind of lunitic I would sound like with no focus and jumping all over the place. For me, all of this seems to be because of quitting the analogs, not from starting vaping.

    Hi all,

One symptom that has been unexpected is the "throat hit" I get in the morning from E-cigs. Sends me into complete spasms of coughing. I have NO sore throat whatsoever. Only this "catch me by surprise coughing" when I start vaping with my morning coffee. Found this interesting. (Use the 510.)

I'm wondering if this has to do with the level of nicotine I'm using. I used to smoke ultra-lights analogs and wasn't even sure what a "throat hit" was until I started vaping. Now I "get" the term and am using 18mg juice.

Did I go too strong in my quest to avoid withdrawal symptoms? I've had NONE.

Any thoughts on the mg issue? I hope this isn't the PG, because I've stocked up. (I guess next on my list is exploring my need to hoard. )
