damn. I should have read this thread before buying my first e-cig today. I now own a dse0084 mini ecig and today was my first time vaping. all I know is after 6 hours since my last vape, my right upper leg all of a sudden felt sore and started to ache. I have NOT had any sort of muscle pain in years upon years. I'm definitely attributing it to vaping and I honestly might quit them completely because of this

Its your first e-cig. Most all of us experienced some side effects at first. While I didn't have muscle aches, I had a sore throat and gastrointestinal "changes" - this just over a month. But I'm all back to normal now (except I'm losing weight?..I need to anyways). Check with your Doc and get some reassurance or checked out. The younger the doctor is, the more likely s/he will support one's choice of using the e-cig rather than the analog. Play it safe though, check with your Doc.

You didn't go and get yourself addicted to nicotine now did ya?

In the first week of e-smoking I have mouth aches and muscle weakness. A little dizzy also, and some times I have a feel like tingle in my teeths, but i suppose this was about overdose nicotine...
Now, a two and a half weeks after, every negative symptoms are gone.
I feel so happy with my e-cigars!

Ok, so I'm torn between trying to help my friend quit smoking and the realization he may already be there and not have a need to e-smoke!

I ordered the Janty Stick, 5 801 spare attys and 1 automatic 801 batt (for kicks I suppose)...

I let him borrow my 801 setup for 2 days...

At day 1 he was SUPER EXCITED... And really ready to jump on buying his own...
By the end of day 2, however, he told me it "wasn't for him" after all... He told me that after day 1 he stopped that night and the very next morning when he woke up it felt like water was in his lungs!!!!
So he didn't vape that day until the evening... Same thing, 10 puffs or so and bed time. The next morning... Same thing!!!

He only bums 1 or 2 every work day from friends so he's practically quit (In his mind anyway)...

I used Janty Hvy Cigar Shag liquid...

    Anybody have thoughts on this?

I've been vaping for 5 weeks now, and just cut out the analogs entirely on Monday. So far I still have some sores in my mouth. I also notice that I'm not clearing caffeine out of my body the way I was when I smoked, so I can't drink quite as much coffee as I did before.

I started vaping over 2 weeks ago. The local supplier (Bizzyb0t here on the forums from VaporStuff, Your Electronic Cigarette Store!) came by after i had problems with a mini84 and showed me the ropes for the most part after i posted a question in his supplier thread regarding altitude and vape production (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...roduction.html). By the wa, if you are a smoker and are looking for an e-cig to replicate regular cigarettes then stay away from the mini84 from E-Cigarette-USA.Com eCigarettes, E-Cigs, Electronic Smoking, E Cigars,E Pipes, Cigarettes, Mini Cigarettes/Home the vape production on em is non existent and the carts are ungodly small.

Anyhow, Bizzyb0t recommended I cut with VG and when he came by brought me a bottle. I have been using it with my 36mg fluids to cut it roughly 7-8 parts VG to 10 parts fluid from Totally Wicked as well as some liquid I got from vaporstuff. Started out with 24mg cut 50/50 but was not getting the nicotine i need to avoid the first morning analog.

I am 2 weeks in and have developed a cough, dryness of the throat, ect...and on 3 occasions faintly tasted blood in the mornings but have not seen any actual blood.

I used to smoke a pack of Marlboro 100 analogs a day (aka cowboy killers). I read here in the forums that my lungs would start to expel the tar. Is that possibly what I am experiencing? I don't seem to be coughing up much and what i do cough up has no real color to speak of. I also have noticed an increase in boogers up my nose as of lately.

I read that VG when heated to hot creates a toxic chemical. That concerns me as I have a 5v Prodigy on the way that may make my attys even hotter. Should i be concerned about this? Also what about flavorings and diacetyl? What juice suppliers are know for sure to not use flavors containing this deadly chemical?

The bonus to all this is I have not had an analog since i started vaping, but i never suffered these symptoms in the past when smoking analogs so you can imagine my concerns wen I started waking up in the mornings feeling this way.

Any guidance you can provide for my concerns and symptoms would be greatly appreciated.

I've been reading some of these posts and am a little surprised at some of the similarities as far as side-effects of e-cigs. However, I think these side effects are much less severe when compared to analogs. I don't believe that e-cigs are a "magic bullet" or that they are the key to smoking cessation. There are chemicals that are being inhaled into the lungs, however harmless, these chemicals seem to have an impact on the body. I have had side-effects as well, but far less than I ever did with analogs. Also, I think that moderation is key. Anything overdone may have a more severe impact on the body.

I was a half a pack to a pack a day smoker of Parliament Lights off and on for about 15 years. I switched to e-cigarettes about a month ago. Since the day I started e-cigs I have never even had the smallest desire to pick up another analog and the thought of which now makes me a little nauseous and I CAN'T STAND THE SMELL OF ANALOGS NOW. I currently use a Joye 510 and vape approx. 1mL of 0 to 10mg nicotine juice per day. Also, I could be considered very active, athletic, and in-shape. I'm 36 and I workout 3-4X/Week, run approx 10 miles/week, and have a pretty healthy diet (and yes I used to do this when I smoked almost a pack a day of analogs).

Here are some things I've noticed between the two. Please take it for what it's worth. Would be great to know how your experience compares as your results may vary.

    E-Cigs
    • Tingling sensation/sensitivity in the mouth and throat, especially on the tongue.
    • Slight sore throat (probably not much more than I had with analogs)
    • Recurrence of sores within my mouth
    • Slight leg/muscle cramps (particularly when working out - sometimes are intense but tend to be very brief)
    • Increased lung capacity
    • No shortness of breath or heavy breathing while exercising
    • Elevated levels of taste and smell
    • The enjoyment I get from vaping (although subjective) is much greater compared to smoking analogs
    • Less dependence on nicotine for benefit or enjoyment
    • Sometimes feels like I'm not getting enough or sometimes too much oxygen (although this is most likely a side effect of my lungs clearing out and repairing the damage done by the analogs - there is a CO2 to O2 conversion that takes place)
    • Increased energy
    • Less desire to go to the gym and workout/run
    • No more stinky clothes or bad breath
    • Sometimes get sticky fingers from e-liquid
    • Contacts dry out more often and contacts feel "sticky" sometimes
    • Slight weight loss (positive for me)
    • No more complaining from the girlfriend
    • E-cigs are much cheaper in the long run $$$
    • Easier/better to regulate my own nic intake (almost none in the morning and more at night - 10-15mg)
    • More intense dreams (at least I can remember them now!)
    • Heavier more frequent cravings for e-cigs compared to when I smoked analogs
    • Time saved from being able to vape while on the go

    Analogs

    • Persistent cough
    • Shallow breathing
    • Stinky clothes/breath
    • Less energy in the morning and throughout the day
    • Tougher starting workouts
    • Heavy breathing or trying to catch my breath during workouts or running
    • Sharp/brief pains in chest
    • Yellowish discoloration of the teeth
    • Was a better "push" when running or exercising from the lungs clearing out during my workouts (although this really isn't much of a benefit if you think about it)
    • Complaints/glares from non-smokers and girlfriend
    • In the smoking section by myself when hanging out with non-smoking friends (I was the only smoker in my group)
    • Always on the lookout for a smoking area
    • Dull sense of taste/smell
    • Satisfaction from the nicotine
    • Greater "buzz" from inhalation
    • Finger discoloration

I have been vaping for a few days and have noticed from the beginning that every time I take a drag, it makes my throat tickle and I end up coughing a little. Didn't happen with analogs so I'm hoping this is just something I'll get used to. For reference, I used to smoke 5-8 ultra light cigarettes a day and I'm using the 6mg PG juice.
