i feel maybe we should be looking at an alternative to both pg/vg that is
obviously safe rather than wondering how safe our liquids are, that way the fda or any of the other bodies involved in trying to ban the ecig wouldnt have an argument would they! its allright saying wheres the proof they are not safe My argument is if pg or vg liquids are 100 percent safe wheres the proof that they are.
Be careful....sounds like the FDA propaganda is getting to you. Do tons of research and absorb everything. If you think about it, just living in the city and breathing the air has some toxic effects regardless if your a smoker or not. Most prescription drugs (FDA approved) are toxic. If you commute in traffic like in Los Angeles your getting way more toxic chemicals (carbon monoxide) than a country folk would. You can overdose on water by diluting your electrolytes and it can cause heart problems. So what do you do? You take the safest approach that your comfortable with. Analogs are proven to be deadly so just research your butt off and determine whats best for you.

Just an update after my third week vaping and with zero analogues.
I just got my first mouth ulcer at the back of my tongue. Weird as I never had that before in my life. It's nothing though compared to the fact that the morning sore throat and chronic heart burn I had with analogues are gone for good

I have been vaping for 5 weeks now. I actually started by buying a PV from a kiosk in the mall along with a bottle of medium apple flavored e-liquid. I used the PV I bought along with the liquid for about a week without any reactions. I wasn't very satisfied with PV I bought and decided to upgrade to the Joye 510 model.

I ordered a Joye 510 set from TW and some Reduced PG juice from JC. From reading the forums here, I thought VG sounded like a better base than PG so I ordered the reduced PG from JC. When I tried the JC liquid, it felt and looked like it was burning holes in my tongue.

After my reaction to the JC liquid, I wanted to find out if I have some sort of reaction to VG so I started vaping pure VG (no nic) thinned with distilled water. The VG I have been using is from Hobby Lobby (Wilton brand). With the plain VG liquid, I had no throat hit, a slight sweeet taste and tons of vapor. I also noticed that it felt like all moisture was being sucked from my tongue and it made my tongue extremely raw. When I looked at my tongue in the mirror it looked blistered and scorched. This is kind of the same reaction I had with the JC liquid. Straight VG also made my lungs hurt and gave me a slight wheeze.

This test is not conclusive since I really didn't wait for my tongue to heal, but it wasn't making it any better either. After this I switched back to the apple flavored e-liquid I bought and now my tongue is slowly healing.

I think I may have some sort of reaction to vaped VG or maybe to the brand of VG. I would be curious to try the NOW foods brand of VG after my mouth heals just to see where my problem is.

I have read a lot of threads on this forum and I see people talking about reactions to PG, but I have yet to come across anyone with reactions to VG. Are they any other people that have had any simular reactions?

Ah, some details left out of the original post! I hope your tongue heals quickly. Be careful.

It could be the VG - straight VG makes me really hoarse, I use a mix of VG and PG. The Now Foods VG is very very thick and needs lots of thinning. If the PG doesn't bother you, stick with what works!

    Best Wishes!

PG tends to dry out moist tissues, which often causes mild sore throats, and so on, for the first few days. Nose bleeds is a tad extreme, but it fits with dry mucus. Temporary acne has also been reported. Give it time, your system will adjust.

Also remember that besides getting one new chemical your body is also adjusting to getting a lot less of many, many others. Between the two some mild temporary effects are just to be expected.

I've had bad reactions to VG also, long fits of uncontrollable coughing. I've avoided it ever since. It's a good alternative if you are one of the small minority who are extra sensitive to PG, but probably just as many people will be extra sensitive to VG as are to PG.

My changes have been few. I have noticed more vivid dreams. But not sure if they are simply caused by worry about the economy. The one that concerns me most is my ears plugged up and all the over-the-counter meds I have tried seem to have no effect. I have taken way higher amount than recommended in my effort to open them up. I doubt if it is the nic...but more the PG. I don`t really want to switch to VG as I believe it is harder on the equipment but perhaps I will have no choice.

I`m going to give it another week to see if it might clear up. Then guess VG will be the next thing. If that doen`t work...and if I can...just simply quit everything all together. Hope it does not come down to that as I am so thrilled with the ease with which I was able to transfer to these E-cigs.

Perhaps these will have helped me throu some of the withdrawls...and it might not be as bad to go the rest of the way

Well at least they have shown me that I can do things I thought I could never do. And perhaps easier than I have believed.

Umm.........I don't agree with this statement if the persons nose is bleeding or if he's extremely sore.

I use to be pretty sore. I would heavily suggest drinking a ****load of water to counter it. Carry an empty water bottle and drink the **** out of it. I get really dry too. This counters it really well.

Good part is I'm drinking a ton of water now I guess

You're right, I neglected to advise drinking extra water. Kgonpostl is absolutely right, it will help alleviate the problems. And again, they will fade on their own as your body adjusts to it.

And yes, the normal, expected iriitation should be MILD; if you think it's extreme, stop vaping, and if possibly consult a doctor. You might be extrta-sensitive to PG, although that is rare, and from what I understand, is usually a VERY extreme reaction, lengthy uncontrollable coughing, very harsh throat kick, and very very sore throat, maybe even swelling. I'm extra-sensitive to VG, and that was my experience.

It's NOT actually an allergic reaction, although most people call it a PG allergy, so no worries about anaphalytic shock, or anything truly serious, so far as I am aware. Just much too uncomfortable to use.

...I would also query whether this is a reaction to VG, since, as I understand it, JC reduced PG is not VG
