I've seen a post where the guy went from 40 a day to smoking PG based eliquid. He said he used to get lung infections several times a year, but hadn't gotten sick since he started. He put this down to the antimicrobial properties of PG rather than the fact that he had stopped smoking 40 a day...
He is right.
it's kind of like reading all the warning on a RX, if the side effects dont kill it will cure your illness. Menthol is used in a lot of cold products and some of the others are used as well. I always say "can't get out of the world alive". I will probaly die from bacon and pg overload if the doctors don't kill me first. Everything in the world is a hazard.
First bottle i got was 36 mg liquid, and sometimes it made my ear lobes pulse. 18 mg did not cause this.
There's a nice fat artery by each ear and what you experienced was the nicotine-induced increase in blood pressure and heart rate. The usually unnoticed quiet flow of blood past your ears became a raging river that you felt. Listen closely to the sounds made by that throbbing and you'll hear, "Don't use so much nicotine unless you want to die of a heart attack right now!"
Pay attention to your body. You did right to cut way back.
I got the sore throat thing, too but thought it was a good imitation of real ciggis (been smoking rollies for years and never had that feeling, that's why I didn't like REAL ciggis in the first place).
However, what really put me off is the wheezing I got at some point (after maybe 2 days of e-smoking) and the incredibly tight chest that feels like a full on bronchitis. It feels hot and irritated and I have to say, i might have to sell my e-cig on as this doesn't feel good at all
Such a good idea, unfortunately, seems to good to be true for me
Lucky you others, otherwise would've loved it (converted at least 5 other people to e-smoking before the trouble started![]()
There is an excellent chance that your symptoms are not from e-smoking, but just your body recovering from being off real cigarettes. Your lungs will begin to clear within a day or two of quitting cigs. Lots of phlegm, flecks of black in it, coughing, tightness of chest, fogginess, maybe headaches. All from being off cigs, not from e-smoking. Give this a week or two and use medium to low nic liquid. Good luck.
satire, I have read and reread your post, how very interesting. So technically, at this point, what would be considered the safest preparation to vape? PG/VG? Avoid vanillin preparations? Whats the current break down?
[quote=No burn baby;51853]How can we ascertain that its the quitting of the cigarette that is causing the acne break outs rather than the commencing of the E Cig?
I quit smoking regular cigarettes for 7 weeks before I picked up an e-Cig. In that 7 weeks I've had the worst acne breakouts I've ever had in my life...so I think it's the quitting of the actual cigarettes.![]()
