Well, I just can't believe it. I've been vaping more or less problem-free for about a month now. Health-problem-free, that is, certainly not technical-problem-free, but that's another story for another forum. Anyway. I've been trying to mix some DIY-ish stuff, nothing major, just combining some juices, so I've been vaping a bit more than usual for the last couple of days while testing. This morning I woke up with asthma symptoms. Grabbed my inhaler, etc. Had my morning analog. No problem. An hour later, pick up my 510. Oooops. Problem. Instantaneous asthma. A bit later try again - same result. This has been the story throughout the day. Ironically, analogs don't do this to me. If anything, they help, believe it or not. It's allergy season, so my tubes are more sensitive than usual, but this is kinda bad. Normally if I am having symptoms, an inhaler twice a day takes care of it. But if I try to vape right now, even the inhaler doesn't help. It's like two hits = instant asthma. It's both for VG and PG. Nor is it any particular flavor. I tried different ones. Not a wit of difference. Only the minimalistic ECOpure is a bit better, but really not much. Afterwards I still pretty much feel like I'm breathing water. I can only use my inhaler once every four hours, and I need my nic way more often than that. Besides, it's kinda ridiculous to cause myself symptoms deliberately. So I'm off vaping for right now. Maybe I over-vaped. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Or the day after. I just don't know. I am majorly... i don't know - irritated? annoyed? dissapointed? frustrated? sad? All of the above, I suppose. Wish me luck for tomorrow or the day after. I certainly hope my tubes didn't decide on their own that they don't like e-cigs and that's that. Keep your fingers crossed for me?.. Crawling back to analogs like a whipped cur... Gotta breathe. Briar. |

Hoping your setback is only temporary! I was a little worried at first that I was sensitive to PG, but I vaped through it and am ok now. Nothing like asthma, though. Sorry you're going through this |

I too suffer allergy flare ups, but 24-7-365. When my allergies are real bad and my bronchitis is peaking I find the only way I can vape is if I draw into my mouth and hold for a second or two max, and THEN inhale into my lungs. Otherwise I hack up a lung as my tubes spasm and end up scampering for my inhaler. Hope you get your issues sorted out Briar (give my method a try and see if it helps) !! VapeOn, Greg |

You might also try a different atomizer (in case some nasty build-up is getting you). Maybe lower nicotine content would be less acidic. Also, most of the nicotine is absorbed through the membranes in the mouth and nose, 'pipe-smoker' mode (draw hits straight from mouth and out the nose without hitting the lungs). That wouldn't be as satisfying, but it could help with cravings. That's about all I can come up with, I hope things work out for ya. |

Thanks for the support, guys - I'm a bit better today. Though, just about two hours into morning I inhaled a good lung-full of burning polyester from the thread stuck on my atty. Arrrg. My lungs and throat are still burning. They've got to come up with a better way of wicking liquid in these things - this is just not cool. I tried PTB, I just can't get it right... Maybe I should try again. And I hate dripping, it tends to burn up the inner wick. <sigh> New technology, durn it. Briar. |

I had problems getting PTB to work as well, until I tried the shredding method. It really does help the atomizer settle into the wicking material and gives a more consistent vape. As far as your asthma problems are concerned, buildup in your atomizer makes sense. I would try a fresh atomizer, although a new atomizer every few days to keep from irritating your throat isn't much of a fix at all. Have you tried a PV that doesn't run as hot as the 510? Also, you said that Ecopure irritated your throat a bit less...Ecopure doesn't contain any real flavorings to speak of and the flavorings may be the culprit. I mix my own juice and with certain flavors if I use too much it becomes harsher than the nicotine itself. It can be very unpleasant. If you mix your own I'd try vaping PG/VG on their own and then slowly add ingredients until you find the source of your problem. I wish I could help more but everyone is different and these blanket solutions don't really cover every instance.

I was thinking.......... Why not pick yourself up a 306a atomizer for your 510 and try "dipping" without any filler in your cart. Just another suggestion to try to get you over your sensitivities. VapeOn, Greg |
