Default Just how much nicotine is in ecigarettes?

I read a report somewhere in this forum which said vaping for 5 mins only produced about 1/10 of the nicotine of smoking for 5 mins.

This seems to tally somewhat with people reported vaping habits ie vaping, more liquid than you would expect from manufactures claim of the equivilant number of cigarettes to a set ammount of vapour.

Also I notice on some of the videos about vaping that they take very long draws on the vapouriser a lot longer than one would on a cigarette.

For example on this video I timed a 'draw' at about 8 seconds however timed myself with an analogue at 1-2 seconds. That would seem to back that theory up, however you also see post concerned about nicotine 'overdoseing', however that may be driving more by the amount of nicotine people *think* they are inhaling, rather than the amount they actually inhale?

Also it seems you get about 2mg of nicotine from a single cigarette, how does this tiie in with eliquid?
For example 30ml of 24mg liquid, which is a typical 'high' dose liquid, now is that 24mg per ml? or what, if it is then a bottle contains just 12 cigarettes!!
I guess other possibilities are 24mg per 0.1 ml which would be 120 cigs, six packs and other would be 24mg per 0.01 ml which would be 1200 cigarettes or 60 packs!!

None of those sound reasonable though, the 6 packs would be the most reasonable to use 0.1 ml as a unit seems real odd?

How long does it last you (30ml) and how many and what strength (brand) did you smoke a day?

Ok it seems it is per cartridge which is 1ml I believe so in 1ml you get 24mg or about 12 cigarettes so...in 30ml you get 30X12=360 cigarettes or 18 packets of cigarttess.

    Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette | E Liquid - Cartridges for E11 or E-Cigarillo

Our Cartridge package has five cartridges in the box. The Cartridge contains about 1ml E-Smoking Liquid and has different density of nicotine:
    - Extra high density of nicotine: 24 mg nicotine
    - High density of nicotine: 16 mg nicotine
    - Medium density of nicotine: 11 mg nicotine
    - Low density of nicotine: 6 mg nicotine
    - Non density of nicotine: 0 mg nicotine

So 18 packs in 30ml however I expect most of us smoke stronger than average cigarettes with about 3mg of nicotine so maybe 12 packs = a 30 ml bottle. That kind of ties in with my struggle to find how much eliquid I would require, someone who had seen my smoking habit data said about 2 bottle a month which seems about correct.

From what I have read, average cigarettes have 7 - 15mg of nicotine, but you only absorb about 1.5 - 2mg - due to burnoff, and I suppose how much smoke is exhaled.

While one cartridge may hold as much as 25mg of nicotine (or more, depending on the strength) I can't find any information about how much actually gets absorbed into your system. I'd be very surprised if it is anywhere near 100%.

    Anyone have any idea?

You're on the right track. However, every cartridge size holds different amounts of liquid....so using the cartridge itself is not the best way to gauge. The strength of the nicotine is based on per mL. Therefore, a 30mL bottle of 24mg nicotine would hold a total of 720mg (30 x 24) of nicotine. A DSE-901 cartridge holds approximately .5ml of liquid, so using the 24mg basis, you would be using 12mg of nicotine in a single cartridge.

I was using 24mg at first then I realized what the hell I was doing. I was using 3ml a day, that comes out to be 3 packs a day. I dont use the carts, I only drip so it goes faster but the hits are bigger.

That is a lot of nic to be using so I switched my nic from 24 to 12 and now I can smoke like I was and not have to worry about going over board.
