Default How to "build up" lactic acid?

Okay, so I have noticed that I have a few more bone and joint pains than normal and at times a bit more painful feeling- Also, seem to be getting fatigued more often-

What can anyone suggest to help "increase" lactic acid- (only thing I can think that would be making me feel this way- the lactic acid breakdown that comes w/ PG)
OR... suppose it could be something else?
I have little muscle and flexibility left from my younger years but don't want it to all turn to mush- Should I start working out again (maybe on a small scale) w/ my husband or what? Already do vitamins... anything else?

I could be wrong, but I think you've got it backwards... my understanding is that PG produces lactic acid, which can cause cramping and muscle soreness. I think you want to be looking for a way to reduce it... perhaps by increasing Potassium intake. Bananas are good.

Hmmm- Maybe I do have it backwards?! LOL- At any rate, Thx Walrus! I am a big banana eater anyway! Will go grab one now-
I am going to look further into this too- I think I was thinking of the lactic acid build up that breaks down muscle and joints and wrote it out as "I need it" versus "that is what I am getting" - LOL

Whether you do have it backwards or not... if you do want to increase lactic acid build up... try sqatting in a horse sstance for about 5 minutes, take a break, and do it again. Repeat. You'll have plenty real quick !

Take care, and I hope thinggs get better for you soon!!

While you're researching, look into Magnesium Citrate. It helps with lactic acid build up and muscle cramping. Just make sure that you don't take too much or you may be hanging out in the bathroom .

You got it right. I found that drinking Gatorade really helped in the beginning and have just kept doing. It ended up helping me with the charley horse I always got every night in my bad leg. Just another hidden benefit found and attributed to vaping.

Lactic acid is a natural byproduct of exercise... your muscles produce it. That's why people tend to cramp when involved in strenuous activity. I'm not sure what the relationship between Potassium and Lactic Acid is, but I know bananas are handed to runners at the end of races. I've heard that natural Potassium (ie bananas) is better than supplements, but I take a supplement every day anyway. My legs cramp a lot at night (even before vaping) so my doctor recommended it.

I can't keep bananas in the house. They all get eaten before I can even get to them, lol Everyone here loves them.

I am like you, I get cramps so bad in my right leg, the one that was injured in the accident, and if I don't get potassium in some way every day I really know it at night. I take so many pills now that I hate to add another one so I just keep Gatorade in the fridge. No one here likes it but me so at least I can get my potassium that way. As far as I know, I haven't had a cramp from vaping. My friend that told me about vaping warned me about it so I was prepared.

When I start getting the PG aches, I drink 3 glasses of room temp water as fast as I can and it goes away faster than it came! With each glass, you can feel the water working-crazy huh?!?! I hope this works for you-someone gave me the advice and it has worked like majic every time for me---seems it doesnt happen as ofeten anymore but I did also increase my water intake as well.

If you've ever gotten a massage, you'll remember the masseuse telling you "drink lots of water!" That's to wash out the excess lactic acid. As mentioned above, potassium, and magnesium. Doesn't have to be magnesium citrate, can be magnesium malate or mag chloride too. I use a combo of mag malate and mag chloride with 10mg of manganese thrown in - learned that with fibromyalgia.

The most important thing is to drink lots and lots of water and stay very hydrated, especially if you're using PG only. I use over 50% VG now and don't have so many muscle aches.
