Default Can vaping skew blood tests?

Does anyone knows if vaping would skew the results of a 12 hour fasting blood test? I've always smoked before getting them, but don't want high glucose levels popping up. Maybe the sweetness in the juice isn't even relevant, but thought I'd check it out with others.

    Any thoughts or links?

    Thanks!

I'd think you'd want to know if there was anything caused by vaping. Go along and vape normally and have everything checked out. You'll feel better knowing everything, and you (and your Dr.) will probably be surprised by your (hopefully good!) results.

So far, I haven't seen anyone be able to confirm that there is a change for the worse by vaping. I've only seen reports of improvement (blood pressure, lung function, etc.). PG and VG are not supposed to raise blood sugar (this is posted by MaryKay in this thread
I posted in this thread a while back. I vape 11mg to 0nic liquid and have had no increase in my sugar testing from vaping. None. I vape most at night while on the computer and I test at 11pm, I am under 150 every night. This has been my normal pattern for almost 6 months. If I was doing something wrong, my 2 or 3 testing a day would show it. The only changes are when I "cheat" with my food intake. My Dr. is thrilled. I am happy she's happy and off my back! My B.P. which has been very high..is now in the low normal range.
I don't know about Nic being so bad for you as a diabetic but since I do vape low amounts I am not worried.
I meant to add that I vape P.G. with about 10 drops of glycerin per 10ml's. I have even tried Glycerin thinned down with distilled water and Lorann's..no difference in blood sugar.
Check Wiki for P.G. and V.G...it states that it will not raise blood sugar.
I am on Insulin and am a type II diabetic.
If you have kidney, liver or sugar issues, you probably should inform your Doctor that you are vaping! Always a good idea to be upfront regardless. Nicotine can have effects on various things, so if you are getting more nicotine than when you smoked, you may have changes in blood work.

Good luck and we all hope for good results for you!

Less -- I don't believe so. I had a blood test done recently (last month) and there was nothin out of the ordinary. High triglycerides, but that was about it.

P.S. = My PM Mailbox gets really full, really fast, so bear with me if it takes me a few days to get to your PM :) Don't forget, you can always contact us at info@puresmoker.com :)

Wow!! You guys rock with some quick answers.

I am a diabetic, so one of the tests will be the A1C. That gives a 3-month snap-shot of my overall sugar levels, so that part won't make a difference. My problem is that I have to fast, but what the heck -- I'm not swallowing the stuff. I'll vape as usual, like I would have smoked. At least they will get a "true" picture of my lifestyle.

Unfortunately my results won't help the forum, because this is the first test since I went on meds for the diabetes. I began vaping in early June, so both overlap each other and won't produce any useful results. Poop.

Thanks all so very much for the answers and good wishes. I will report back.

(What's the deal with high Triglycerides here? I've had those for years.)

well ... keep us posted on what the results are like Less! Be very interested to find out

High Tri's ... who knows ... i plan to try and job about a mile or two a day in the afternoons ... I was doing it for a month or two several months ago. Helps releive stress and made me feel good! also started yoga, but i'm not sure yoga for stress, but i doubt that would do anything for tri's considering tri's come down with physical exertion i believe...

who knows ... i'm just the guy that sits on the table and gets his blood drawn, then gets called on what i need to do to fix it. i leave it at that
