This is my first week on the e-cig, I've smoked a few analogs alongside, but I'm determined to make this work.
As time goes on I'm finding vaping tasting better, and analogs tasting worse.

This thread is very encouraging, I'm really looking forward to all the benefits ahead of me.

And a question if I may....
Once completely off analogs, how about claiming to be a non smoker when filling out insurance forms, etc.

Well, I'll answer my own question, I'll be down as a non smoker

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I was a pretty long time smoker. I'm 29 and I've been smoking for 13 years... 1.5 to 2 packs a day. I have ADD but the normal medication does screwy things to me, so I substituted lots of caffeine and nicotine. I had been thinking of trying vaping for a couple months, and I just started about 3 weeks ago. I have had some of the flu-like symptoms that other people have mentioned, but I know that's just all the toxins, tars, and other bad things leaving my system.

I can breathe more easily now, I don't get winded, and definitely agree with others on the sense of smell. I can always tell who the smokers are now. Also like others, I can taste things so much better now, which makes vaping even better. The only downside(if you can call it that) is that I vape like a fiend now... but then again, I used to smoke like a fiend.

I haven't missed the analogs since I got my PV, in fact the smell of smoke almost makes me sick now. Long live the e-cig, and lots of love to all of you guys on the forums that helped convince me to drop the analogs and pick up the good stuff!

Lol. You had me at hello.

I lost a filling a few weeks ago and have been prolonging the inevitable up until now. Since vaping for a couple weeks now, the constant sucking has left me feeling as though someone stabbed me in the jaw with an ice pick.

As for positive results since quitting analogs... I not coughing at night or in the a.m. any longer... I can breath better already, my house smells better and best of all, I have not gained weight like when you usually try to quit smoking.

No worries about the panic attack. I had a couple last week that left me worried about my sanity.
Wait I lost the sanity when I started smoking.. all is good.

I would advise if the panic attacks get worse to seek medical attention.

Awesome thread, and it's great to see so many people feeling better after switching to e-cigs. I smoked menthols for 9 years, and never quit smoking because I liked to smoke (other than a few lame attempts of cold turkey that lasted 2 to 3 days max). At one point when my wife asked me to quit smoking, I just swapped to Smokeless Tobacco, but that just didn't work for me.. I missed smoking.
I've been vaping for 30+ days now without an analog, and feel completely different about real cigarettes. No, I'm not an anti-smoking nazi, and still hang out with many a smoker, but the desire to smoke a real cig is completely gone (in fact, I don't know why I liked it so much in the first place).
The past two days has brought an interesting twist for me... I've lost most of the urge to vape (which made me a little upset because I LOVE it). I still do it of course, because I love the feeling and taste, but I've cut my nicotine down to about 12 (from 24.. then 18..).. and now I find myself reminding myself to vape! I'll go for a few hours without it and then suddenly remember, and have a few puffs, and then off for another few hours.
I do still vape when I sit on the forum though, it seems as if not vaping on the forum would be blasphemy.

No bad changes for sure, no hacking in the morning and breathing much more relaxed.

You know how your voice gets deeper when you smoke. I have talked to women and could tell that they smoked just by there voice. Well my voice was kinda like this. Since I started vaping my old voice is coming back. I also was having trouble carrying on a conversaton with having to stop in the middle to take some breaths. I no longer have to take breathing treatment. I am breathing so much better and never cough anymore.

I am so glad I found ecigs and enjoy sharing with the members.

My cat doesn't snore as often or intensely now that I've quite smoking
(he's a really big cat and he can sound like a large human, seriously)

I really noticed this the other day when sitting here at the computer I heard his 'fat man's rattle' emitting from the couch and I realized I really hadn't heard it in a while

This is kinda embarrassing and makes me feel bad to have to admit, but I've been discovering that my mostly white (save for a black beagle-like spot on his back, unibrow over the eyes and black tail) cat really is white

he had been an ever-so-slightly dingy sort of yellow before (especially in spots where I pet him), and now he's not.
    (I never knew.)
