Metal particles inhaled from atomizer?
My question is, do you think we are inhaling any metal particles from the atomizer mesh metal? Do we know what it is made of? Has any looked at this?

I suspect the temperatures are not high enough to break down the metal mesh on an atomizer to the point that pieces become particulate matter that could be inhaled. There are no studies to my knowledge that addresses this issue. However, there are numerous studies of mesh used at higher temperatures via pipe smokers. Inhaling metal via pipe smoking hasn't made the health concern list.

That's good to know. However this mesh looks different than a mesh screen for a pipe. It is very tiny and jagged looking.

I think I heard its nickel? Very NOT sure on that tho...But I bet if you searched the "Atomizor Mods" Threads you may find ur answer, post back when u do-interesting question...

I've searched the "Atomizer Mods" thread. I posted questions there.
I'm not sure "we" have a clear confirmation here on vapor metal deposition in the respiratory tract from PV attys, or the typical composition of the metal wick.
If stainless steel, chromium toxicity is possible. If nickel, that metal has health concerns as well. Are there traces of impurities that are toxic?
I'm trying to get information on the "true" composition of the metal wick, and/or other atty components that can pose metal toxicity risks.
Based on the extent of the industry and consumer response to date, odds are good that the system is "safe." I switched to nicPV after 35+ years on analogs, therefore "safe" is a relative term here.
Is "life" safe? Let me "save" my edit...
This is the ECF Health & Medical Issues, Health, Safety & E-Smoking forum.
It seems to me that in buying ECs online by mail order instead of a local American store, I have chosen to become a human test subject in a effort for me to manage my nicotine addiction because my nation's marketplace refuses to allow me to have my nicotine in a safe, effective & manageable way. This is truly an historic moment.
What if "the government" had mandated mass transportation when voters preferred personal transports, PTs, a.k.a. "cars?"
I used to listen to The Cars.

...this will not be very helpful lol but awhile ago I came across a discussion on this that ensued after someone posted concerns about their major nickel allergy. So might want to search by something along those lines too. (IIRC that casual discussion was if anything reassuring... Oops, again with the not-very-helpful input lol!)

I've picked out a few small particles that were inside an atomizer, or stuck on filter wool. I just don't see how they could be inhaled with regular vaping. They have weight, however slight, and the suction required to inhale vapor is IMO much less than the suction that would be required to move particles from the bottom of the atomizer to our end of the mouthpiece and then through it. Also, you would feel them on your tongue.
