Default Painful gums

I'm asking about this for my mother.

I quit smoking on Sept 30th a week after getting my e-cig, I basically just finished off all the packs of cigs I had left while just doing a few curious vapes. After running out of analogs it was a painless transition to e-cigs. Analogs taste so horrid to me now, I'll never go back! It's almost been a month of being smoke free for me. I used to smoke a pack a day. The only side effects I have had are a little sore throat for about a week, so I drank more tea with honey in it. I also had a huge acne breakout and I couldn't stop yawning- but from what I've gathered those were from quitting smoking.

Now I just bought my mum an e-cig starter kit. She smoked less and vaped more and then only vaped for just one day before buying another pack of cigs and smoking. She said she was having painful gums. I've been looking for info about painful gums and quitting smoking or vaping but I'm having trouble finding anything about it because when you search for gums things like the nicotine gum come up. The other thing that comes up about gums is bleeding gums, but she doesn't have any bleeding, just pain. I did find someone's post about quitting smoking and they said their gums hurt... but it was on Yahoo answers so I dunno about the reliability of it. I'm so sorry if this is another annoying newbie repeat question, but I'm having no luck with finding anything helpful.

Sooo, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced painful gums or could help me out a little with figuring this out.

Some more info if it's helpful... she has the Joye 510 and PG liquid. Could it be the PG?

Thanks so much in advance!
Peace,
Maesi

This is the first I've heard of anyone having gum pain when switching to e-cigs, but from my limited experience since giving up analogs I can say that I'm much more aware of virtually everything going on in my body now. I think I'm watching as my body adapts to having fully oxygenated blood, and my heart and lungs become more efficient, and I sleep more soundly, and things smell better to me (the good things, that is, like food and flowers and stuff). I know I sort of keep asking myself: is this change I feel in my head, my chest, my stomach, whatever, something to do with my body freeing itself of toxins?

If your mom is having gum discomfort and it persists, it's probably best that she pay a visit to her dentist or a periodontist, of course. I wouldn't rely solely on advice from this or any other forum. Good luck to both of you!

Actually, sore & bleeding gums are a fairly common side effect when first vaping. It passes fairly quickly. PG and VG are both humidicants, so make sure to hydrate well.

I seem to recall something about nicotine and the capillaries in the gums, but I can't recall the specifics.

Mine got that way. Get her to switch to VG. That's what I did and only have problems when I over vape.
And over vape is going from a lot to excessive (pretty much constant). Even then I just felt a little swelling in one or two areas. It's gone the next day, but if not gargle with salt water.
It rarely happens anymore becaue I've learned my limits ans still vape more than I smoked.
Watch out for the flavors too cause some of them do the same thing to me.
Menthol chrystals caused little red bumps inside of mouth.
