Lightbulb My Nic Overdose Experience and why new users should pace themselves.

I'm new to vaping and just ordered my first kit today, but I saw a lot of questions on here in regards to nicotine content and getting messed up on it.

Having vivid recollection of a particularly nasty overdose I had of Nicotine once upon a time, I wanted to share from my experience and some info on how to know "when you've had too much".

The first thing you'll notice is that you feel a bit too much of a buzz...like you just drank a case of Redbull. Anyone who has pulled an all-nighter gaming with Ballz cola knows what this is.

Anxiety follows. All that relaxation just flew out the window, and now you're worrying about everything. What adds to it is that you know WHY you feel anxious, which makes you anxious about the very overdose that is making you anxious . I remember sitting in the coffee shop that fateful day, long before the Tennessee smoking bans, and looking at my smoke, thinking, "Oh man, I just effed up bad on this cig".

Problem is, I was young, stupid, and scientifically minded, so I kept smoking the cigarette just to see through the stages of mild nicotine poisoning.

The next comes the sweat. I felt like I was running a fever. I likely was. I was also sweating because the anxiety was causing that response.

The sweat was chased with increased pulse. It was noisy and in my ears, but this was probably augmented by the coffee I was ingesting at the same time. Man, I miss being young and made of steel and rubber...

I overdid it. I kept smoking out of morbid and reckless curiosity and woke up sitting at the table about an hour later. Dizziness had crept in quickly and I was nearly beergoggled before I had passed out. Stupid, stupid teenaged me.

After I woke up, I felt cold, because I was saturated with the sweat from the more-than-mild overdose and was sitting under the air vent. I wasn't dizzy anymore, but now we've cleared the terror and mayhem part of my tale and entered the disgusting parts.

Think going on a bender and chasing the alcohol with bean burritos from Taco Bell. Welcome to the throne, King Nicotinus of Porcelainia. Enjoy your seating, you'll be on it for awhile. This comes with pretty much any Nicotine overdose, no matter how mild.

Why do I share this particularly disgusting tale? Because it's best to know your limits on anything before you go ingesting it. Don't go diving into ridiculous doses of nicotine in your juice, just because you're used to Marlboro Reds. On my order, I've got several different grades of juice coming to me so I can start low and see how high I can go. Some people have the constitution of a rock and could mod a gas mask into a massive vape machine of 60 24mg fluid cartridges that plugs into a 110v outlet, but it's always best to pace yourself and discover your limits, rather than push them blindly and find yourself with a pounding heart and diarrhea.

Default Crap

I was wiring up a clothes dryer mod on a 220v where you just climb inside and tumble. Guess i should return that 55 gallon drum of Johnson Creek Tennessee cured.

Seriously though, you have a point. Don't vape yourself to death. Know your limits, please. Last thing we need is the FDA having more BS to try to ban e-cigs.

jeesh........ I remember those nights when pounding the beers down and chain smoking like crazy. The next morning i felt like I got hit by a mac truck going 100 miles an hour and then hurling me into a brick wall with a 2 ton mallet beating my head in like a strung out banchi doing a smack down on the advancing monkey hurling its crap at the ticked off tiger looking for a good meal. My point of this is it wasn't the 6 beers and a couple of shots they gave me the hung over feeling it was the large amount of smoke and nicotine that did the damage. So yea i keep my nic levels low now but those old times are long gone in distant memory.

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Seriously though, thank you for your post. It's a good warning to all of us nicotine users out there.

I was twelve years old and working on my grandfathers farm during summer break. He asked me to join the rest of the laborers hoeing weeds from between the tobacco plants and he would pay me well. It was a very hot summer day in Western Kentucky and I took my shirt off. Big mistake that was! At noon we broke for lunch and sat in the shade. I felt the dizziness that was just the beginning of MY nicotine overdose. Next was a pounding headache. I was already sweating so that may or may not have increased I couldn't tell you but even when my grandfather carried me to the truck to get some air conditioning on me I was nearly passed out. I just barely remember getting into the truck and out I went. Next thing I remember is waking up at grandma's house with cold rags on my forehead. Then just as my eyes opened I jump from the bed running down a flight of stairs to the bathroom. That was the worst three hours spent on the cold floor of that bathroom. I can still remember the color of the grout in between the floor tiles. It was a light blue...lol...

Since that day nicotine has never come close to effecting me in that way. I seriously think my tolerance was increased to that of a 40 year smoker in that one day. Rubbing against those tobacco plants must have covered my sweat soaked skin for those sunny 4 hours in Kentucky.
