I had a similar experience. I used to be the one who could eat any spicy foods...now the girlfriend has a higher tolerance than I do. Very embarrassing, especially since I used to make fun of her for it. Ahh, karma.

Lol yeah my GF totally owns me now, she was about one level down from me now she's two up, and I always gave her hell for it.

You'll just have to become a wine buff, now you have a sensitive palate!

Funny you should mention that. I already was a big wine nerd (and beer nerd), and I'm loving it now...although my palate is going all over the place, and some things I liked before taste terrible now, and vice versa. Strangely, I didn't have the same experience with beer. Huh.

Weird to find this thread today, as I had a similar experience last night.

Took my bride out for some sushi, and in the course of eating the meal,
the wasabi was really giving me a kick, mostly in the nose, so much
that I was becoming teary-eyed. This n e v e r happens, and I realized
that I am breathing so much better out thru my nose when I am eating.

We even had a short discussion about it, when I was asked about my
surprised expressions by my sweetie. Yes, it was tasty, and yes,
I continued to chow down on wasabi. I actually enjoyed the experience.

But it is obvious that in my short time of being off the nasties, (44 days)
my nose and throat are now more sensitive to hot and spicy foods.
I consider it a good thing, and look forward to more surprises.

I have noticed that it did have a slight effect on my tolerance as well. Probably not as severe as yours. I was enjoying some fresh serrano earlier mixed in with home made bean dip.

I wish people would double think their titles. If you just browsed ( yes, that's not a good idea) this forum you would probably not go with the e cig because of all the negative titles. I mean "vaping has ruined me" makes this thing look like a deadly product. You sort of made a good thing (regaining your taste buds) sound like a disaster

I thought it was a great title!

My first thought when I read the title was of all the money we spend playing with
our toys (put me in the poor house!) heh..

I've been vaping only 3 days (had 3 real cigs in that time) and already the flaming hot Cheetos I used to down like nobody's business make me sweat!
