    Default My monthly cough *cough*

So anyway, I've been off tobacco for errm well since March this year but once a month, on average, I cough up a loogie, since I'm slightly concerned I examine it and it usually has 2-3 light brown specs in it. I'm not really concerned about it since I've <googled this and my lungs are still cleaning themselves after 27 years of unfiltered smoking.
I just wondered how long other ex-smokers got this for and if ex-filter smokers are getting this.

I would certainly go to a physician and get this checked out. I've heard of people developing asthma after quitting a long time smoking habit, but under no circumstances should you be hacking up brown "bits" after half a year off of tobacco, even if it is just once a month. It's okay to not be overly concerned, but it's still something that should not be swept under the carpet.
