Exclamation Melting 510 Carts - Solution?

As some of you might have seen - there is another thread here regarding melting carts... (you can just google it) A lot of people did report that they saw the edges of their carts melt slightly, which means you are inhaling a little burnt plastic... Does not seem too healthy I noticed the same on my 510 carts and I do *align* them with the bridge...

Take a look at your carts - do you notice the same?

What do you think is the best solution?

Heard you could use 901 carts on 510 - does that solve the problem?

    Trimming 510 carts???

Switch to 901??? (510 atties seem to be getting hotter than 901).

Please share your experiences and *solutions*.

I trim about 1/16 of an inch from all my 510 carts. I never use the original filler, I do the Lipton pyramid teabag as filler and it works great, no meltingcart, no melting filler, even at 5+ volts. And yes, aligning the carts makes a difference.

Cheese graters could also be marketed and sold as sponge ruiners. Think about it.

Yeal, I'd have to say trim the cartridges a little. I align mine all the time and I still get some melting...yes, it is poisnous.

If you orient the cart in the proper position they don't melt.
The insulator inside the atomizer is shaped the same as the cart ( circular with 2 flat sides), and the cart needs to be installed so that the comparative shapes are 90 degrees offset from each other, or you can think of it as a cross or X shape when properly assembled.
This is not always the easiest thing to pull off, bad lighting or while in the car, and other situations that aren't conducive to paying close attention to the assembly will result in not getting it just right.
Since I switched to 901 cartridges, I have NEVER seen a melted cartridge, you still have to orient it properly, but it is easier to get it right, and I think the cavity is bigger which results in more clearance.

Something else that contributes to melted carts is "keep it wet, no melting" "allow it to run dry = overheating and melted cartridge"
    It is all pretty elementary.
I think the best method by far is the 901 cartridges though.
