    I have asthma too and even though mine doesn't flare as much as it used to, when I'm exposed too much to one of the allergens that triggers it (mold, doggie dander, tree and grass pollens), it flares up. So it could be coincidental.

    Just a thought.

    Thats good to know, one big factor in me deciding to pack up real cigs apart from finding out about PV's was the fact that every morning i woke up feeling just crappy and groggy with a dull mild headache, i put this down to 75% of the cigs i used to smoke a day being in the evening, to be honest i felt better this morning but it could all be coincidental or just in my head it's waaaaaay too early to say but im hopeful

    I was wondering if any of the people who posted in this thread about their "tight chest" have improved?

    My first week's vaping has been great, but tonight I definitely feel a tightening/heaviness in my lungs, kinda similar to the way your chest is after a night out smoking too many cigarettes. For now, I'm going to put it down to my lungs starting to clear themselves of all the cigarette gunk, but I don't want to be complacent so would love to hear from anyone who's tight chest went away.

    Id be interested in knowing this also, and if everybody gets it after a certain amount of time.

    I have been vapeing for over 2 weeks now and yet to have a tight chest.

    It's allergy season here. I have been wheezing, do it every year, quiting smoking analogs did not cure that. I have had some problems off and on but, I don't think they were from vaping. My doctors did not think so. Started vaping June 2008.

    Some of these folks have described serious problems (or could be) and they need to go to a doctor. People that have just started to vape can get other illness too.

    I'm not dispensing medical advice here, and I don't want anyone to view this comment as an excuse to "sit and wait" if they think they are having a health problem. That said, I am a repetitive quiter - it's really lame I know, but far too common. I'll quit for a month, sometimes 2, but invariably I end up feeling "over" my addicition, smoking one and having the self control to wait a week before I smoke another, and then I've proved to myself that I can, in fact, just have one.... I'm sure you've all been there.

    Point being, I have experienced the effects of quiting many times, and I have felt heavy-chested almost every time. I don't know if it's related, but one way I try to inspire myself is by timing a 5k periodically (no I won't post my time, it sucks even when I'm not smoking,) and noting the improvement. During the first 3 or 4 days off the smokes, it's actually worse. I have a really hard time controlling my breathing during this period. Then, finally it gets better, and keeps getting better.

    This is one possibility. For those of you who have been smoking a while and getting this, check your pulse. If it's high while this is going on, maybe you should cut back the niccotine. FYI - I've been talking with vendors in China the past few days about e-liquid, and some of them don't even want to sell 24mg.

    My suggestion is put your liquid in a syringe and vape as you regularly would, always filling from the syringe. See how many mls you used. Multiply this number by the mg strength of your liquid. If the resulting number is higher than you were smoking and you weren't having these problems with cigs, get a lower strength liquid.

    Some food for thought when you're figuring out how much is too much - the highest dose patch is 21mg.

    I see where you are coming from here, one question i have though, when we smoke analogs we are getting the nicotine plus a whole bunch of other crap, so in my opinion i think that having the same amount of nic just is not going to cut it. If i have to increase my nic consumption to compensate for some of the other crap in an analog i am pretty happy to do that.

    I think when we first start vapeing we are massively taking in to much nic to try and get the same feeling we used to get from an analog but as our body adjusts we find out own level of what our body needs.

    Now i have got to the point where my body actually tells me when i need a hit and what strength to go for, i find when i am on the 36mg Nic i just do not vape as much as when i have 18mg in my ecig.

    I think we need to get away from trying to work out how much nic we need and how much is in the juice juice as for one we just do not know how much is being absorbed from the vapor yet.

    Another thing to think about is we do not know for sure how the nicotine compares to all the crap in analogs in the effects on the body in the long term, i.e would it be better to get say twice as much nicotine rather than all of the crap in the analogs?

    I really do not think that we should stop vapeing until we get results from the research as has already been said these are going to be a lot better for us but we should also realise that there are a lot of unanswered questions that we will not know for sure until we start getting good conclusive data from all the tests that are going on and will happen in the future.

    This is just what i am thinking at the minute and where i am on the whole vapeing situation, just my opinions, i may be wrong but this is the way i feel currently.

    Just wondering what your doc's take is on the whole vaping issue. I keep bugging one of the doc's I work for to check into it for me, he's a research geek but he hasn't yet.

    Just to say, I posted in this thread last week about a tight chest.

    Glad to say the symptoms passed within a day or two and my chest is back to normal (actually, clearer than "normal", and certainly not tight anymore).
