Riddle, most of the nasties mentioned are the chemical constituents of the flavourings, it is important to note they should be all approved food grade, and ( based on Ruyan test results) constitute approximately 0.6% of the total liquid .... i.e per ml they equal 0.006 of a gram !!!
Each blend would typically be made up of 1-3 or 4 of the compounds mentioned, and not all of them

DC. The original thread was common-symptoms-when-e-smoking Look at Page 2 and Post 72 from Kate which contains some forum links regards ingredients.
What am I? Your Researcher today??? LOL

Trumpybloke: Do you have an idea which ones do not use the same e-liquid supplier? It would be useful to know who to avoid.

I haven't read this yet but know that professionals have checked Wicked and Ruyan eliquids for toxicity.
We already knew we were taking risks, have any new ones definitely been identified?

Basically Kate, Satire has painstakingly gone through the list of ingredients he was supplied with and collected all the information he's been able to find.
The main issue for me relates to nicotine extraction and how pure that nicotine is. According to Satire's report, if the method of extraction isn't done properly, the nicotine may contain some of the "nasties" which are contained in tobacco. Doesn't mean I'd take up real smoking again (the nasties are already in there, what's the point?). Just makes me think twice... and a little disheartened...

Ok, thanks Lil, I'll read it soon.
We've had worries here about ingredients for ever, this is going to be an issue until we get long term and thorough testing of all liquids we inhale.
Bertrand posted a few weeks ago about the dangers of propylene glycol not being formulated properly and maybe containing toxic propylene oxide.
We really are at the mercy of the manufacturers, they have got to have a safe formula and uncontaminated supplies.
There is no quick, cheap, easy answer to our concerns. There has to be regulation, double checking, testing and long term study. Until then, in maybe twenty years or so, we won't know for sure that what we are doing is a healthier alternative to smoking.
It looks like we're in for an uncomfortable few years of worry.

I guess so Lil
so some or all of our liquid contains the following:
Acetaldehyde, Acetone, Acrolein, Acrylonitrile, Anthracene, Formaldehyde, Methyl phenanthrene, m-,o-, p- Cresols, Phenanthrene, Pyrene, Styrene, Xylenes, methylcyclopentan-1, 2-dione, malic acid, tetramethylpyrazine, 2,3,5-trimethylpyrazine, beta-damascenone, Acetylpyrazine, Ethanol.
Doesn't sound too savoury from the comments. but if these are in the liquid Dr. L tested, it does't seem he's bothered.
Trumpy, what is your source for 90% of the liquid consumed is from the same manufacturer of Ruyan's ?

As I understand flavourings could be the main problem ie tobacco , and obviously they will be different in each flavour liquid, so any lab test should be carried out on each different flavour. Has any supplier tested their full range of liquids? I’d be pleasantly surprised if they have.
The actual pg or vg + nicotine seems to be ok .

That list of additives doesn't look familiar to me DC.
Here's a link to the ingredients we know about - Ingredients in cartridges or E-liquid

That's the list in Satire's report. I'm super confused right now.
