Default This Just Bites The Big One

    Ok, this just bites.

Been vapping about 2 months now, about 11-12 days cig free and thought I was doing quite well.

Apparently, I'm not. It's flippin 4 am and I'm not sleeping. I have been up for 24 hours. That's after taking my nite-nite meds.

Then, about 2 weeks ago, started feeling really run down. Lethargic, fuzzy headed, congested, like I was coming down with a cold. So I cut back on the mg and amount I'm vapping. Seems to ease up.

So I'm vapping along then BAM! Started getting the shakes, feeling dizzy, throat is raw and having difficulty swallowing, chest feels tight, nose is plugged up. I'm blowing huge chunks of green boogies out my nose and hawking up luggies the size of plums.

Figured I either poisoned myself or had a severe allergic reaction. Time to experiment.
Experiment 1: No problems with 0nic, 18mg unfla., 24mg unfla.
    26 unflav., 0mgVG, 26mgVG.
Experiment 2: 18mg DIY (36mg unfla., mixed with glycerin) and
I'm sick. Figured it's the DIY.

3 days later, I try the 18mg DIY and have NO PROBLEMS. None. But, 18mg unfl. that I didn't have problems with, made me sick.

I've been feeling out of sorts for 2 weeks. I am sick and tired of having a sore throat for 2 weeks - mostly in the evenings. And , NOW, NOW I got pink eye. Not the mild case. But the case where my right eye is literally oozing fluid. Eye gore.

Thank you so very flippin much Vapor Gods.

It's like my immune system has gone haywire. I'm thinking I may be allergic to PG. Would that also cause a numb tongue and not having found a satisfactory nic level?

I'd appreciate any reasonable feedback 'cause this just bites a hot door knob right about now.

Tough call for a non-MD. I'm enjoying a sleepless night too. My 510 got all harsh on me for no reason and I ended up pulling an analog or two. Hope you feel better champ!

Wish I could help. I was doing the awake all night before I started Vaping. After starting vaping I'm still up all night. Just a data point for your contemplation.

Not a doctor so I can't tell you what the problem might be.

But you might consider making a 50/50 mix of some the 0mgVG + 26mgVG (that gave you no problems) to give you some 13mg VG liquid.

If you vape the 18mg early in the day, 13mg after that, and switch to the 0nic for the last few hours before bedtime it might help with the insomnia. And since more people seem to be sensitive to PG, going VG only first might be best.

You could also go with the 0nic + 18mg unfla. = some 9mg liquid.

And if you keep up with the green boogies and sore throat go ahead and just go to the doctor. I've had bugs that came and went for a while before finally kicking in full blast.

I ended up with a cold, and realized it wasn't the e-cig, I just caught a freakin cold lol.

But I agree, go to the dr if it gets worse.

    Default Thank you

Thanks everyone. Will try your suggestion Birdy.
As for seeing the doc, I suppose I should but I really think this is related to vapping.

Started reading up on allergic reactions to PG - most of my symptoms are the same. Also read somewhere on line that PG can be an irritant to the eyes, allowing for viral or bacterial infection which may cause pink eye. That could also be the reason for the sore throat. Especially after chain vapping.

Nicotine is also a stimulant. My insomnia could be that I'm getting more nic than previously with smoking. Maybe that's why I'm chain vapping.

Numb tongue -? Possibilities might be nic juice in mouth, allergic to PG, vapping too much.

    So......
I have to determine if I'm allergic to Glycerin or not. Have some glycerin and will thin that out with some distilled water and vape. Try the same with VG and see if there is any reaction.

Then, I have to determine nic levels. Will label some attys with nic mg and vape. See which nic level is best.

I'll post results as I go along.
    Again, Thanks!

Usually green colored nasal discharge indicates a sinus infection. You will probably need antibiotics.......go see your doc.

What beckah said. Green or very thick yellow discharge usually means you have an infection that needs antibiotics. It's also not uncommon to have a viral or bacterial infection in the nose or throat and then end up with viral or bacterial conjunctivitis (bacterial "pink eye" is usually the super gooey discharge version). Once you go to the doctor and have those cleared up, you will be better able to determine if you have any issues related to vaping.

In addition to seeing a doctor, it might also be a good time to give your equipment a good cleaning or replacement. This really can be a dirty habit if you consider how long carts last, how we just top off carts and bottles. We use juice we got from who knows who that didn't like it.
I had a stye that seemed to clear up and then came back a week later in the same spot. I gave everything an ever clear bath, switched to new carts and fresh juice, and packed away some of those excess supplies for awhile.
    Good luck
