    Default Dutch have e-smoking palpitations

    This from a Dutch newspaper:

    Electronic cigarette investigation called for
    Monday 17 March 2008

Health organisations have urged health minister Ab Klink to launch an investigation into health risks associated with electronic cigarettes, which allow users to 'smoke' nicotine without tar and tobacco.

A number of users have reported developing heart palpitations from using the device, which critics say can release too much nicotine.

Klink has already banned advertising for the device by arguing it should be treated as a medicine.

Well as you said before, TB, this is why we need a device that releases a perfect measured dose each time it is puffed.

I do worry about the effects of excessive nicotine, not least due to its blood pressure raising effects, but also because I don't want to make myself any more addicted than I already am (if that's possible).

I wonder if this is a priority for the manufacturers. Perhaps we'll have to wait for the NextSafety device before we get such guaranteed doses.

We should probably get a poll up some time to report side effects.
