| Don't want to panic you, but if it's flecks that look like coffee grounds, it could be blood. If so, get to your doctor. In fact, go anyway because it's unlikely to be tar after so long.

Yep our Healthcare system in the UK (with all it's failings) is still the best thing any government in the world has ever come up with for the good of all it's people.

So you analyze the samples and then send the reports back to the doctors who decide what it means and what to do about it. Ok. Good enough for me Duncan, for now. I gotta admit it's better than a random bloke saying to see his doctor before ***ing. |

[quote=Programmer;128030]... If anyone wants to know why socialized healthcare costs so much, here you go, case in point. Go anyway, "just cause". /quote] 'socialized' medicine might cost a pretty penny, but we americans spend more than the rest of the world, in absolute and in terms of per capita. Despite this the health outcomes we have are worse. Many factors in this of course. Also notable is the fact that we are ranked 37 by world health organization. 36? Costa Rica! Christ |

I find I breathe easier, am coughing up stuff with tiny brown flecks in, not coughing a lot, I expected to though as I have smoked for a long time. I have never had a smokers cough though.

Please quit calling me a "HE", and I am not in the UK. Thanks for the advice!

After you quit for a long enough time, does the tar actually get removed from your lungs to your mouth, or is there another way the lung gets rid of junk?

I can say from my own experience that my lungs feel much better, that has to be a good thing I would think
