I was a pack a day Marlboro smoker for 20+ years. Its been about 6 weeks of esmoking and I am still coughing up brown junk. I feel that this helping quite a bit and my lungs definitely feel better. I imagine that years of smoking analogs would take a while to get out all the tar and junk.

From my own experience I feel like since I started using ecigs I haven't had short of breath when I run for bus. hahaa <~~~ Always late for work.. I use to really have a hard time breathing especially when I exercise and stuff. Now i feel less tired and easier to wake up in the morning. So to me I think its a lot better.

I play hockey 4-5 nights a week and have not noticed a significant increase in lung capacity It may take longer than I expected. I have been smoking for 15 yrs.

Nearly 3 weeks in and I definitely have more energy, sleep 100% better and feel 100% better when I wake up, sense of smell is improved but I'm not eating a lot more (because I'm still getting nicotine) tho' my appetite seems better and I'm more likely to end up licking the plate lol. My breathing is clear and I don't get dizzy when I take deep breathes.
E-cigs are pretty much the best thing to happen to me and my lungs and its suprising how much smoking tobacco had decreased my quality of life.

Think of this... 1,5,15,30yrs of atomized tar has attached its self to your lungs... Honestly... I think it would take more than two weeks for your body to remove it.

Have you ever washed your car and found webs of tar on the skirting (lower sides of car) and had to scrub like all h3ll to get it off? most times we had to use something abrasive to get it off....well the only abrasive substance that your lungs have to remove tar is...well .. Mucus, so yes I think two weeks of improvement is great but it get way better

Trust me. I had quit for over a year. Concentration went up, mood went up, and erection... well you know Started smoking again after my wife had surgery for topical preg. But soon to be back on the wagon. My e-cigs should be here in two days, Yah

The main thing I noticed after switching full time to e-cigs (started vaping almost a year ago but still smoked cigs until a month ago) was that my chronic hacking stopped. The other thing I noticed was that I feel a lot more energetic. However, I still have to determine if vaping has affected my running because my progress has been very slow compared to when I didn't smoke/vape or all - last year around this time I got up to 5 miles a day running in about a month and lost 15 lbs. I started running 2 weeks ago and have GAINED weight while my mileage increase has been very small . Could be the high levels of nicotine causing too much vasoconstriction which is preventing my muscles from receiving the oxygen/nutrients it needs to increase my endurance. Also, I read that PG can raise levels of lactic acid (as evidenced by the feeling of soreness by some vapers when they first start - something which I personally experienced myself) which is a bad thing when you're trying to exercise.

BOOM!! That sounds highly probable. The PG, might actually aid in the absorption of the NIC, as its more hypotonic than tar… Right
I'm guessing a substance starting as a liquid-to-vapor is more easily absorbed than a solid-to-smoke blah blah bonding yadda yadda active transport... Lower your dosage by half. Gashin I think your right.

A little bit of a long story...

In August 2007 I had my 13th surgery from my accident. It was the 13th in less than 3 years. The day after the surgery things started going bad really fast. Heart rate was 190, BP was out the roof, blood oxygen level was only 74%. Turns out I had a couple of blood clots in my lungs and I had this thing called atelecstasis, which is where lobes of the lungs get really spongy and actually collapse. I had it in both lower lobes from having to lay in a semi lounging position for 3 years.

In October of 2008 I finally had the money to start seeing a doc to try and get my BP and HR under control. At that point I had no air moving from the bottom loaves of my lungs. We were having a hard time getting my BP and HR under control, in fact, in April, just a few days after I started vaping he wanted to admit me to the hospital because my readings were so bad. I didn't go because I don't have any insurance and couldn't afford it.

On June 3rd, went for my monthly check up. Blood Pressure is normal, hrat rate runs in the high 80's which is okay and he can hear air moving in both lower lobes of my lungs!!! I'm still coughing up some gunk now and then but I feel toms better. I am actually breathing and not short of breath and I don't feel like I'm running a marathon while I'm sitting on my couch.

Anyone that doubts the short term effects of vaping just needs to read all the stories on here. We haven't gotten any long term studies done but it sure can't be worse than smoking analogs.

( Sorry that was long )

    Off subject:
Are there any people here with ocd's? Have you noticed any markable decline in your ocd?

I tell everyone that sees me vaping that I know it's saved my life as well. I was well on my way to a heart attack, stroke or both. I think there are many of us out there like that.
