jimldk, are you saying it is okay to use this saline "cleaning solution" you developed as an e-liquid? I bought some of the medium e-liquid and it is actually too strong for me. I start getting dizzy after just a few puffs. Instead of throwing it away, I would like to find a way to reduce the nicotine level by half or more. I smoked for 45 years, but never did inhale, so it could be that I am getting a lot more nicotine with the e-cigs than I did with smoking real cigarettes.

Is there a possibility that the saline solution could damage the atomizer or battery when used on a continuous basis as a substitute for e-liquid?.......or is it likely that the saline could be harmful for long term inhalation?

Thanks much.....

Well, The CS can't substitute e-liquid but it can dilute existing prefilled cartridges and make it more accessible for use...some of my patients use it as e-liquid cuz they actually find it helpful whenever they want a 'light' smoke..indirectly lowering the Nicotine strength....I suggest the CS to be use for cleaning the Atomiser(whenever it runs out of steam) ...not as a refill but to make cleaning easier than you can put 2 drops onto your cartridge.

So far, normal Saline does not damage Atomiser and the user as well...It has been used for more than 2 months with no apparent side effects(only complaint I get is not enough supply of CS..I'm catering almost 300 patients now!).
I have compared the usage of CS ...those who use it finds their Atomiser does not clog and continual function than those who don't use it...somewhat lesser complaints of Atomiser failure..It is still early stages and still a lot of things still unknown..we shall see and hope for things to improve...

Oh yah..almost forget...If you need to reduced your medium strength to lower density..you can actually do it by just adding water(filtered and clean water preferred)...use a 10 ml bottle ...put 5 ml of e-liquid medium and mix with 5 ml of water..you'll get lowered strength..you'll test it out and see whether you get the dizzy feeling again?...that the best way around it...experiment till you get the right level....take care wb...pm me if you do need help again.

Thanks again for your incredibly useful posts. You mentioned feelings of "satisfaction" with this. Could it be that the salt solution is making absorption of the nicotine more complete? Snus have massive amounts of salt, aiding absorption by the mouth. Commercial cigarettes here have ammonia added to raise the mouth's PH and increase absorption. I've thought of adding sea salt to my e-Liquid to see what happens. I understand it cleans, but might it also change the chemistry of the solution in a way that boosts absorption of nicotine, thus making a user more "satisfied"?

Actually ..it is YOU who triggered the idea of salt...I read your post(all of it..and I like what I read) some time ago and it strikes me that you are onto something and me having all the access to chemical products decide to work out your theory...well founded!!..The salt content in Normal saline is low but non-corrosive to the metal of the Atomiser and should able to wash when heated up..remember sweetish flavors tends to make you suck more on the devices but saltier content will satisfy one's 'hunger' / craving ...I wouldn't recommend adding salt to e-liquid(I've tried that ...don't want to mention the side effects..just say it bad enuff).

You are all my teachers here and for that I am grateful.....

Thank you so much. I appreciate it and am glad my thoughts led to some useful experiments.

I just got back from a health food store and spent some time browsing herbal extracts, etc. Some homeopathy vials, Bach aromatics, extracts of cacao and vanilla beans. The contents seem safe to inhale and I can't help but think our vapor might be made healthy with proper additions. We could get nicotine and perhaps herbal content at the same time. There were vials for cough, for instance, and even one for nicotine addiction. They all contain various Oriental herbal concoctions in a base of water and 20% alcohol. The cacoa extract was based on vegetable glycerine.

I'm sure with your fertile mind you've throught of this!

I just went to 4 different pharmacies, looking for the ever elusive saline solution. I was going to make Dr. Jim's Magical Cleansing Solution, but who could have guessed that a simple saline solution would no longer be available. The only thing I could find was either a foam for cleaning wounds or the saline used for contact lens.

If anyone else has made the cleaning solution, let me know what you found in your area and how it turned out.

:o I'm speechless....The Noble prize....it should goes to the inventor of this device...I'm just improvising it and dared to take the risk to start something that most people hate to tackle and taken for granted(also for those who had succumbed to this tobacco related disease..I'm sick of losing friends and patients to this dreaded 'plaque')

I'm glad all of you are able to share this with everyone..the good and the bad part of it as well...we are gonna change the world.
