| Hi Doc ..Well I am using an ordinary hemp teabag, It doesn't work as well as the original polyfil but at least I never get any burnt plastic taste any more..so I am happy ...but I am going to try the nylon pyramid tea bags. Because they are woven I don't think there will be much chance of getting any fibres burning on the atty and from what a lot of people are saying it does wick just as well, if not even better than the original polyfill once you get it right.

My impression was from the beginning of this thread that the problem is not only the thread getting stuck on the bridge, but also that the polyfill has to touch the bridge for the wicking to occur, so it gets heated up and thus gives off fumes. Is Nylon any better for this? If that's the case, maybe I'll try PTB again... Haven't had much luck with it, but maybe it's worth another look. Briar. | |

i had that burnt taste but then washed out the atty. i did notice that some of the filler material was wrapped around the arch of the atty.
