Includes a great picture of what the waste from 300 cigarettes is compared to one, 15ml bottle of eliquid that should yield the equivalent of 300 cigarettes, based on using 2-3 drops to get the equivalent of 7-14 puffs depending on the smoker. So I should also mention that the smell taking this picture was so bad that I almost couldn't take it.... Had to stand back and zoom in! Yuck! The E-Cigarette: A More Eco-Friendy Way To Smoke PS: This is in no offense to RJR's Camel Brand. We actually encouraged our friends who were Philip Morris smokers to switch because of the tobacco bill and this is what they have saved up for us! If they couldn't go ecig... then they certainly shouldn't support PM. ![]() Diggable? http://digg.com/d312mYj |

That is a great picture! I'm always trying to imagine what the ciggies I haven't smoked would look like. |

This is just anecdotal, so don't hold to me to this, but I remember getting yelled at one time(when I was still smoking analogs) by one of my friends who is an environmental engineer. I flipped a cigarette butt that I had just smoked casually on the ground and she went nuts. She stated, something to the effect that, every chucked cigarette butt ends up polluting some ungodly amount of fresh water(I think it was 100 gallons, but it may have been up to 300 gallons). Just though that this thread was an appropriate place to add that.

I came across this site a long time ago and thought it had lots of useful info on it: CigaretteLitter.Org - The Facts About Cigarette Butts and Litter - Free Ashtrays Available While Supplies Last and since I can post links, here's an article about San Francisco's litter problem. 25% of the litter is cigarette butts costing the city over 10 million dollars a year. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/19/us/19smoke.html

I hated the mess from one weeks worth of smoking. The picture is a little misleading. After about 6 months of vaping I don't think I've thrown hardly any bottles away (mine come in dropper bottles and they're always good to have). When I order 10ml bottles I just use them for my mixing. And I've still got all the carts I started with. I have thrown away a handful of polyester fiber fill (no tea bags for me, too much work!). And I'm always mixing up flavors for friends to reuse the bottles. I'm no tree hugger, I'm just happy to be free of all the filth! Besides, the Janty 510 is the very definition of minimal packaging if ever I saw one! --Prof Daffy | |
