My current atty on my 510 is approaching 8 weeks. Same throat hit, same vapor, same great taste.

Kreel has supernatural powers so it's different for him but I suggest for anyone who finds they 'don't' get much working life out of an atty no matter what they do.....they should try doing a daily 'dry' burn from brand new and their atty will work better and last for much longer.

Every other week, I do a cleaning to bring it back to a vapor monster. Using same 2 for 8 weeks now. Have like 20 for backup. LOL, At this rate, I won't need any more for years. D |

I know that the dry burn should fry the gunk off of the coil but doesn't it harm the nylon portion of the wick? I have 3 sick attys that are about 3 months old. One is unresponsive and has higher resistance in the coil. Two have good resistance and will heat up and sizzle but do not wick the juice from the cart. My maintenance proceedure is ever evolving but now I soak the attys in alcohol for 24hrs. and they come back to life but I have 3 other old attys that only produce about 90% of what they did when new. I'm interested in your dry burn theory. Can you give me more details? Kevin

robw has the right idea! I tried to get one of the webmasters here to set-up a poll on the front page, just like robw did here in this thread, but not just for 1 atomizer....FOR ALL ATOMIZERS! But obviously, they don't feel that it's necessary! ![]() Since so many people use their components in different ways, it would be much better to have a poll where the user could select specifics on their model combinations that they're using (i.e. 510 atty w/passthrough), how many mills of juice per day they're using, how often they clean and HOW they clean, how many dead ones they have, etc, etc. Not every e-cig is the same, even if you have the same model. I think that we've all seen that ever component is a toss-up/crap-shoot! (At least with DSE/RN components) And only a detailed poll showing MULTIPLE components of the same model and varied usages would reflect a legitimate poll on their overall performance and longevity. I personally use the 901's (and 4075's) with a manual switch passthrough that pumps out 5-5.5v at 1000mA, consistently. I found that the 4075's fry in about a week OR less and will last for about 10mls. The 901's have been lasting for about 15mls before THEY fry as well. And I found that cleaning either of them kills them even faster!! They die almost immediately after cleaning. And I don't mean a snap, crackle, pop, fizzle....I mean DEAD!! While both perform the same while using a 1 amp, 5 volt manual passthrough, their overall longevity, for both models, is nothing less than horse*****! So, of course, now.....I'm looking for a better atty! But this poll isn't accurate enough to make a solid determination of a 510's performance..... Users, like me, NEED MORE DETAILS!! Pleeeeeease. | |

I can also say that 7 weeks in my wife and I are still using our original 2 510 attys. They have earned their money and will be shipped to cooperstown when they die. If you do read a lot you'll find quite a few of your atty's are long lived becaused they are NEVER cleaned(just blown out occasionally) Mine has been dropped on concrete 7-8 time and off a ladder on concrete twice and still tears it up. Judging by your luck anything would be a better atty

Ok boob here. I take it a "dry burn" is pushing the button with no cart in place? For how long? I tried it for a few secs. Too long?
