the older model does not work properly with a manual battery.
the newer model does work with a manual battery.
if you get an older one it can be modified to work with a manual battery. there is a video to show how to do it...
YouTube - PCC MOD FOR TITAN E-CIG MANUAL BATTERIES
The PCC also works with a 4081.

There are many conflicting reports on this one, hence I am not risking my manual battery by using the PCC.
Initially it was said, NO dont use the manual battery, as it was longer than the auto one and the switch got in the way when closing the case.
Now to be safe...I dont do it...lol
just saw your post Waldo, didnt know their was a modification with a new PCC. But thanks for posting Scott's video that was most helpful.

EXACTLY! The PCC case has not changed, the manual batteries were made shorter (a real RIPOFF if you're not interested in the PCC, IMO). Ludo of Janty has said that all batteries will fit "if you are handy"... whatever that means (or maybe that means "if you are igetcha")! Supposedly the case is going to be modified to work correctly with the shorter manual battery, I think Ludo said in May or June (somewhere in the Janty forum). I don't think the long manual batteries will ever fit correctly, I think their existence is now being denied

I don't know. I have two PCCs. One Janty branded circa Feb09, one Joye circa Apr09. My 3 preferred batteries are long manual. I've made no modifications to my PCCs and charge all 3 long manuals in them. If/when I need new batts, I would prefer the manual longs.
I mainly use them as portable battery chargers, but not much else. I always have a bottle of liquid, extra battery and extra atomizer. I'm thinking about cutting off the last cart hole to get the room for my extras, but haven't decided yet. I would get more use out of them that way.

I don't have one, but don't you have to force the lid a bit to close it with the long manuals? igetcha shows this in his modification video...

When I put any of the auto or short manual batts in yes the lid would close with no counter resistance beyond that little spring, but the battery wouldn't always go down enough to charge without putting pressure on that side and then sometimes wouldn't stay down enough to charge. I've read some people glue a little piece of foam to the lid to correct that. So for many, the shorts and autos are really too short for the PCC as it is.
With the manual longs I get a little more resistance, but not really forcing it. For me it's more making sure it lines up to click in straight rather than crooked. I can do it with 1 finger, so not much force required. And I get a slight gap. Same as in igetcha's video. I also looked at the heavily glued internal connection and thought about lowering, but it seemed too much work and chance at ruining the PCC for something that didn't really matter to me.
I prefer and have more of the longs. They charge fine for me, so I use them. I don't think it matters much for anyone ordering kits or batts now. I think most everywhere has the short manuals now.
As for being handy, I'm not. For those that are, I know it's been done although I don't know what pieces are required, but 901 batts and either my 401 or 402 batts (sorry don't remember which) fit the PCC fine. So it's possible to mod the PCCs for other models. I've got a metallic red PCC for my black 510. I've got a metallic red 901 I think would look nice in my black PCC, but haven't decided yet. HTH,

I have a dura C purchased in the last month and i have to 'force' the top closed but i do not have to make the mod igetcha did in the video. From what I understand the diameter of the opening is larger than it used to be.
My dura C batteries are manual without an lcd and they measure 69mm without an atomizer attached. I question if the case would close if they were 70mm long.

I have 2 Joye-510 kits purchased recently. One set has manual batteries with led one set has no led. I just ordered a TW Titan 510 PCC. I hope they all play well together.

I hope they all work well for you. There are so many little variations anymore on the batteries and PCCs that it's anybodies guess. I think my black PCC sets the battery deeper than my red PCC, it's just a hair if that, but I swear it's true. So long as I'm never stuck out and about with no usable batts, I don't care. That's my primary concern. I've got too much equipment by now that I would be beyond ticked at having to buy a pack. It was one thing when I had 1 e-cig, but now....
Course now that I've said that I guess I'll need to load up a trunkfull of stuff before I head out of town again.
Also forgot that the PCC charges the batt inside when you've got it plugged in charging. Good use for any USB/DC adapters you've got about that didn't put out enough power for any non-inline batt passthroughs you might have. Like I said, I use mine mostly as portable chargers. If/when I find a way to keep a little juice in there, they'll be of more use to me. Still wouldn't run around without spares though. I'm also a fairly heavy vaper 3ml/day, especially when I drive. So others may get more mileage out of theirs.

Lots of great information coming out of the woodwork; thank you all. I went ahead and ordered the Dura-C kit + PCC (and thought I'd try out their black tea).
