I own the Dura-C, the TW 510 Titan and the Nobacco Black Line (the Greek version of the 510), and i also had the same issue occasionally.
As soon as i top the cart with liquid the burnt taste vanishes.

As mentioned, topping off does cure the poly taste (burnt plastic, or at least plastic), but I was having to top off every few drags. I was about to give up on the 501 just because I had to top off so often, didnt seem to use all the juice in a cart, getting poly stuck in the atty, couldnt tell what flavor I had in there cause they all were tasting the same...etc.
Until....I tried the tea bag method. WOW! Or in other words...OMG WOW! Cart drank the juice like mad, every hit tasted like I just topped off, and after a few hours of unbelievable vapor and taste I could only tell the cart was getting low by the vapor, not the all too familiar smoking a bic pen taste.
I actually went to work today with only two tea bag carts and a charger, instead of cart tools, extra poly, charger, passthrough, and juice! I can now tell big, delicious differences in taste, can even tell if I didnt wash the cart out fully because of a mixed taste of two flavors, and dont have to wait so long between drags for the poly to wick juice. Now I just have to have to drop down to a lower nic strength, since Im falling in love with vaping all over again (was starting to get discouraged due to all the maintenance required). Been off analogs for a month now, and with the new tea bag fill method, I know Ill never go back.
Big thanks to whoever came up with the tea bag method, was almost ready to go back to the dark side until I found that info.

When I get either the burning or metalic taste I top off the cart with one drop of menthol liquid. So far that always made it go away. I never smoked menthol analogs and am not a fan of menthol liquid either so that is why I only use one drop. The liquid I am using is from MyVaporStore and it is extremely potent. It actually reminds me of the taste you'd get from Nat Sherman Mint analogs. The one drop I use does overpower the taste of any eliquid I might have had in the cart, but in my experience it also takes care of any bad taste completely.
I don't think that I would switch to vaping menthol, but now and thn I add one drop even if there is no bad taste. The menthol from MVS just makes the vapor taste really fresh. It almost feels like having a strong mint candy.

I do have atomizers from Janty but do have many from different suppliers. Problem is that they are now all mixed together and I they all look the same. But the last order I received had the attys different color so I'll be able to see if this seller's merchandise is any better.

I recently ordered a 510 set from the other guy, and all 3 atomizers tasted horrible with the flavors I use in my SD, and JS, then I tried a Janty Dura-C atomizer which was about 65% better flavor than the other guys, but still not as good as it should be.

Just think the 510 cooks your juice, changing the taste
Just think the 510 cooks your juice, changing the taste. I tried everything possible, the only thing that helps 65% better is a Janty atomizer, I get 65% better flavor with it, than the other guys anatomizes. still not 100% perfect, as using the same juice in my SD, and JS. Now one vendor told me that using VG, instead of PG does not burn up like PG, and will give the atomizer a longer life, due to the thickness of VG. I do not care for the taste of VG, to me it tastes weired.

I have never tried using VG. But I do have a bottle of it and will open it one of these days. But I am waiting for delivery of one the higher-voltage vaporizers for 510 that I ordered recently. People claim that it brings up the flavor of all juice in a big way. Hopefully it'll be here next week so I'll report back on the result...

I ordered the Prodigy from Puresmoker. There are other similar devices on the market, but as far as I know Prodigy is the only one that works on 5 volt power. That seems to be the sweetspot for flavor. Other devices either use lower voltage which is similar to the battery you get from 901 or higher voltage (6v) which may work the atomizer a bit too much.
There are some reviews here:
Prodigy reviews
The Prodigy uses adapters for different types of vaporizers so you can use one Prodigy device with different attys. I've ordered the 901 and 510 adapters to try first. If it works well I'll probably order the 801 adapter because I like that they hold much more liquid. I just never liked the standard 801s before (they were the first PVs I tried).
