Lost my 510 atty last night, 2 months of heavy vaping. $8 atty for 8 weeks of vapor, no complaints from me.

The one in my 510 is 1.5 months old. I use it weekdays at work and when I'm out on the weekends.

The one in my Prodigy is 1 month and 2 days old. I use it constantly in the evenings and on weekends.

Never cleaned them. I just blow them out when needed and drain them overnight.

    I use JC liquid exclusively.

    Both still going strong.

im still on my first 510 atty. its over a month old, and stronger than the first day i got it. I even put a cart on weird and it brushed the steel-wool off to the side of the atty. Didnt make a difference. Just blow them out daily, and at the most wash them in warm water only. i only do that to get menthol taste outta there.

I don't perform any kind of maintenance on my attys, I just use them until they slow down or die. I have some last 6 weeks, some 6 days, there doesn't really seem to be any consistency. I keep the ones that merely slow down, in case the supply line ever dries up, I can try and breathe some life back into them. But when I think of analogs running $6/pack, and I was smoking a pack a day, I'm not terribly disappointed if I only get a week's use out of an atty.

Don't throw anything away. Most atomizers can be brought back to life unless there is a mechanical fault. Check the atomizer with a volt/ohm meter to see what the resistance reads. If the resistance is below 10 or 12 ohms the coil is still functioning and just needs to be cleaned. If the resistance is much higher than that the cleaning will do no good. I've had great success soaking the atomizers in alcohol for several days to a week.

Most clogged atomizers will respond to this cleaning. Eventually the atomizers will get too bad to clean due to the build up of carbon on the coil. There are more extreme methods available.

I am not sure a dry burn is a good idea on the M401. I tried it and now the bad taste will only go away for a little bit and then comes back. My M403 atomizer I have never dry burnt on and it tastes fine. I'm not sure but I think there may be a subtle difference between the 401 and the 403. The 403 has a much easier draw and has not developed a bad taste.

I don't know about the 401, especially since this is the 510 forum. Some have reported success with a dry burn on their 510 attys. I have revived 2 attys with a hydrogen peroxide wet burn. It has worked where the alcohol soak didn't.

Take this for what it's worth.
I mix a lot of VG in my juice, and it's as thick as Molasses. I've yet to have atty problems with any of my 5 different models.

I only clean an atty when it gets hard to draw on. Usually a few months of use. I drop it in grain alcohol for 24 hrs and blow dry with canned air. Then load em up with juice and continue.

Only my opinion, but it works for me.

    Hey Jim...

Do you drip exclusively, or do you also use carts?
