Default my joye 510 review 2 weeks in

well have had my joye 510 almost 2 weeks now i think....

i like it, but a few cons (that i knew would happen)

i noticed the past few days my 2 batts are both seeming to hold less and less of a charge... which is says right in the manual that it will do this, but man sometimes either of them will only last whats seems like a hour, luckily when the one dies the other is done charging each time lol.

the other thing i noticed just this past day or so is the atty's not performing as well it seems. although i havnt cleaned them or anything, i just notice little things like this with everything. it just produces a lil less vapor.
i wish atty's were a little cheaper!!!! anyone know where to get 510 attys the cheapest??
there are so many differnt cleaning methods.. i dunno maybe ill do the rubbing alcohol first, then blow it out and see if that does anything. although i need to get a few more attys before i can do that.

all in all i like it alot, but i do have to say im going to be building my own mod so i dont have to keep charging these damn batts all the time lol

No rubbing alcohol! Blow 'em out from the thread end into paper towel often. If you vape heavy they only seem to last the same or a bit more for me as well...go directly to "How to Spend a Saturday" thread and research the "Chuck" mod...2-3 days battery life...wish I'd gone there when I first started vaping...

I have had very good results with alcohol. You do need something to disolve the juice that is clogging up the wick. I use pure grain alcohol now but I got very good results with rubbing alcohol but you have to flush it out after soaking. But this is just a temporary fix as they will eventually fail.

You might as well consider all parts of the stock e-cig as expendable. Batteries will get weaker the more you charge them. Atomizers have a limited life span somewhere between 1 to 3 months. This is just a fact of life.

Try the Crest Pro Mouthwash (blue) soak for 15 mins and then gently rinse with hot water and dry overnight.

As for "cheap" ... try Totally Wicked (US) and get a few 5x510 boxes. Should put you under $9 a piece.

One week in and I've experienced a battery problem

I have 2 batteries that came with my starter kit, and charge them each day (I go through 2 cycles/day, so 3-4 batts)

One of my batteries stopped working this morning after I thought it was fully charged, and so I stuck it back on the charger... after 15 minutes, I removed it and checked to see if it was working at all... nothing...

I remember someone saying that they gave it a slight hit on a table, and was able to revive it... so I turned it on its side, switch facing me (i.e.90 degrees from vertical) and lightly tapped it on a table from a height of approx. 5cm...
sure enough, it started working again...
and now I have put it back on the charger to make sure it is recharged...
(I'll post more results later, if I see anything negative)

I suspect this may be a problem with the manual SWITCH contacts, PERHAPS...
since the battery FLASHES when hooked up to the charger (meaning the actual battery and/or circuit-board are functioning)...

Overall, I am still quite happy with my 510, even though I had to manually adjust one of my atomizer's coils (i.e. the metal braid not the Ni-chrome element) with tweezers (the blank cart that was on it seemed to have been inserted incorrectly, pushing the braiding to the side a bit)

I've also noticed that it is imperative you have one part of the fiberglass wick going down INTO the ceramic cup, otherwise the juice won't be properly vapourized and you'll get a strange quasi-burned/caramelized flavour...
(This again is related to the atty that was fixed)

If you want to make this a full time vaping machine you are going to need a lot more parts. Atomizers last from 3 weeks to 2 months before they are gone. The batteries will last for less than 300 charges. So the best way to guarantee you have a full time device you will need l lot more parts.

Yes, the fiberglass wick is important to full performance.

Sorry for asking this here (It won't let me start a new thread) but: Where can I buy a full/starter Joye 510 kit? Like what site has the best prices for everything including all supplies (attys, batteries, juice etc.). Once again sorry for going off topic!!
