Default HELP _ why is my 510 tasting SO NASTY

I got a blu starter kit on Thanksgiving and loved them. I have been reading on the forums and I decided to upgrade to the JOYE 510. I ordered 3 sets as I am also getting the Prodigy 2 and went with the 510 adapter. I patiently waited for my order from China. My Blu was only holding a charge for minutes and I was eager for my delivery. OMG! My first drag I put one of my favorite juices on and it gagged me it was so nasty. It was the strongest chemical nastiness, I can't even describe. When I look inot the atty there is thready materials sticking out the sides and they are burnt and nasty. I have tried to pull as much as I can out but it is impossible to remove it all without ruining the atty..I ruined one already. Am I correct in thinking this is what is cauging the bad taste? I did a dry burn ont he atty to see what happens to the threads that I can't get and they do burn..will they burn up if I continue to do this? Does anyone else have material lodged under the atty??

I actually stopped and picked up a pack of smokes today because I am not enjoying my vaping at all The taste is like burnt chemical and very unpleasant...if this would have come before the blu I would have tossed it int he trash and never tried e cigs again.

I have 100 ml of juice coming (I've been LOVING the juices with my blu) and my Prodigy and I am seriously ill even thinking of trying the new juice as I can't take the taste my Joye is putting out. Any suggestions?

I'd blow them out from the beginning to remove any 'priming fluid' that's in them. Then soak them in Everclear for a half hour or so to clean any residual off of them. Let them air dry for a while, then direct drip 4 drops or so onto the mesh. From there, proceed as you normally would.

The taste is likely the priming fluid, not the fibers. I don't own a 510, but I've read a ton about the atty's, and it seems that they all have those fibers.

FlipnOut is correct. Blowing the primer fluid out is a must! Even after blowing and soaking out you may taste it a little while, so hang in there for several more drags. It will clear out.

yuck! I just took out 2 new atomizers and blew them out and a lot of fluid dip come out. They are in mouthwash right now as I don't have any alcohol.

I charged up a Blu and I think my stomach is so turned by the JOYE that I can't even enjoy my BLU right now.

Why do they put nasty tasting crap on the atomizer??? dumb...I wonder how many people take a first pull of that nastiness and never try an e cig again?

It's to protect the internals while being stored and shipped. Not sure if it's necessary but they definitely do it!

I have a bottle of Everclear that is devoted to just cleaning atty's and making e-juice. The other bottles are for bringing up the alcohol content of cheap vodka

Can I use regular rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol to soak the atty? Or does it have to be everclear? I don't think I can buy everclear in California.

What's the next best thing to soak an atty in?

    Thanks!!!
