Recurring Leakage....
So here's the deal. I have 5 batteries, 4 atty's and a USB Passthru(DIY).
Im using the LooselyRolledDoubleFoldedPTB mod in all my carts.
So when vapor production sags, i normally top off cart.
But i've been noticing the PTB's are always moist.
And i can get no more then 2-3 drops before it pools..
I always let it pool, and stick the cart in a n vap away...
But vap production is always so-so for first 5-10 puffs, then its good.
But after that the juice starts leaking out, again and again...
Be it with fully-charged batt, or USB Passthru...
Now i've never changed out the PTB, but i do rinse em out every 2 days, ish.
What am i doing wrong? My hands are always sticky from leakage...
and vap prod. is only decent 10-20% of time...

Your putting to much liguid in the carts. Instead of letting it pool you should stop when it looks like slush. Add 1 drop to the atty bridge as well.......only 1.
Try that.

I switched to cartomizers because I hated being sticky all the time.I had to carry wet wipes around with me,its gross.

So why is my vapor production dropping off, until i over-fill?

That is why I suggested 1 drop on the atty. Sounds like your liquid isn't getting to the atty bridge.
Are you blowing the atty out a couple times during the day? If not you should.
You could just put a couple drops on the atty and none in the cart as well. See how that goes.

I only blow out the atty if I've flooded it.
I use PTB as well and have discovered if I use my tweezers to remove the fill, drop/fill into the empty cart, then replace the PTB that it works much better. I don't often flood the atty any more and have more consistent vapor production until the cart is dry.

curiousJan, that's how i refill it first thing in morning.
But i get serious leakages doing that....
So i just did a coke-soak, and rinse with hot-water....
Blew thru all 4 atty's (some old some new)
Lets see how it goes...

I made the switch for the same reason..... nothing I did kept my attys from leaking.... I got tired of fooling with them.

Agreed. I now use the "premium" cartomizers and no longer have any use for the 510.
It all came to an end for me about a month ago. My 510 leaked down into my auto battery and closed the circuit. I felt something HOT in my pocket, and soon I was dripping boiling ejuice all over the floor of an office depot. It was like lava, and burned the heck out of me as I struggled to get things under control. Luckily, I was in the ailse that had paper towels (how convenient).
And that is how my 510 found its way to a drawer.

Sounds like you've not got enough PTB in the cart. I know that the causes of my leakage issues are always 1 of 2 things: either I overfilled _or_ not enough fill with too runny liquid.
In my mind, the thinner the liquid, the denser the fill needs to be packed. More viscous liquid, looser fill.
YMMV,
Jan
