Default Refilling cartomizers--what am I doing wrong?

I cannot seem to get a cartomizer to work after I refill it, no matter what I try. I am starting to feel stupid.

I do get flavor and nicotine, but the vapor production is abysmal. A sad, sorry little wisp, where the fresh cartomizers produce a nice, satisfying amount of vapor.

I have tried every method I have read about--including the spinning it around in a bag, which *does* get the juice to get down in the cart better, but it doesn't help with the vapor.

I have also tried adding glycerine, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

The batteries are fully charged, and when I put a 901 atty on, they fog up the whole room--which they don't do on a 901 battery.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I appreciate any help and tips. I am cartomizer-refilling challenged

Do you here a gurgling sound when you fire them up? I'm wondering if you are flooding them, that's usually the cause for little vapor.

even if you don't hear gurgling you may have over filled it... over filling doesn't ruin the cart, but you will have to use some method of extracting the extra juice

1 keep taking drags until the vapor increase
    2. get a syringe and suck a bit out
    3. insert another method

curious how many drops do you put in when you refill?

Sometimes I have to puff on mine a while after a refill before they begin to produce vapor again.

    Thanks, folks!

I was putting 20 in, thinking that was what they held, but after the twirling they would hold at least 30. (I only discovered the twirling thread this week, though, so the 20 is from before that.)

It may be that I am just not giving them enough time and need to keep puffing on them. I'll try that and see.

(It is possible that they are *all* over-filled, because I haven't rinsed and drained any of them--just filled with a similar flavor as they came filled with. But only one actually gurgled.)

As an aside, dripping a 901 atty on the KR808 mega batteries is *really* nice. Loads better than a 901 battery.

Keep puffing. I learned that it does take awhile for good vapor on a refill, so be patient.

Also try not to put too many drops in on a refill this will prevent you from wasting juice with wasted puffs.... just a food for thought

I'll remember not to use so much juice next time--waste not; want not--right?

I have been puffing on the last one I refilled, and I do think I am starting to get vapor now. I think I must be impatient, or something.

Is it okay to use glycerine in the juice you use to refill, or does that gum up the atomizer in these?

The taste in the KR808d-1 is so good--especially the brandy and whisky. But I have a couple of mixes of my own that would taste really good too, and I usually mix in some glycerine with them. Don't have to, though, if it messes up the cartomizers.

    Thanks for the help, y'all!

Yeah 30 drops is a bit much unless the carto is completely empty.

I have a syringe, and it does certainly work to extract juice from an over-filled carto, but I've mostly been using a paper towel now.

I tare off a small section, roll it up to a small cone-shaped point, and press it into the mouth end so that it touches the polyfill material. This wicks away a good amount of juice, and after another quick spin, it often rescues the cart, I find.
