Default Possible LT issue, or does this often happen?

So here it is, close to 5am (central), using my tank with a cloned smoktech cart inside (1.8 ohm, way shorter filter inside), set at 4.4v on the mod. Was vapping something called KaraMellow Bacco (100%vg), decided to swap to another tank (same type of cart) filled with mountain dew (100%) VG, and the weirdest thing just happened....

As i was pressing the fire button and trying to take a tout (pull, drag, draw) i noticed the flavor was all of a sudden going down and the amount i was getting suddenly went weak. I thought i would check the battery volt, but it was still sitting at 3.9V but my setting was all the way down to 3.0V

Thinking it had reset itself for whatever the reason, i took the battery out for about 5 minutes and put the it back in, thenn set it back to 4.4V, this time though, i noticed two touts (drag/pull/draw/intake) later and the LT was suddenly very warm, where using my new tanks on it all day yesterday this was not a issue?

So i am wondering if there was a glitch somewhere? Seeing as i have the generic batteries, i would normally let them drain down to 3.2V or 3.0V before charging them in the xtar and the LT always read freshly charged batteries as 4.1V. Yesterday i let all three of the generic batteries go to 3.6V, then charged them and i finally got a freshly charged battery readout of 4.2V from the LT.

I am currently using my ego battery with the same tank and there is the ego is not warming up at all (as i thought maybe all this meant a issue with the tank, and the ego is the one with the dragon "tattoo" or SS sleeve on it) So i am wondering if this was a fluke, I am doubting it is the battery as i never had a issue with it before, or is this something i should be Cautious of? Either way i took the battery out and put the volt meter to it and it says the charger is 3.9V, while the SS LT (made by made by UNIQ(Young Jun) is sitting there without the battery in it while i try to wonder what to do next

would try a decent high drain IMR and see if that solves it. Clean the connector on the LT and give the button a spray out with contact cleaner or canned air.

I'd also give the spring a quick check. When I first got mine, the spring was a tad squished. Worked fine, the noticed that the voltage reset every time I set it down. The little bounce inside was enough to disconnect the battery. I normally don't recommend pulling a spring out (in gunsmithing, it's a no-no), but stretching the spring solved my issues. Probably not the only thing going on, but it couldn't hurt.

MASTER0FDAMPF, and tinstar15 i am looking into both recommendations, i was more worried that i had maybe did a short and was going to send myself into low earth orbit......I am not sure if i said it already but the one i am talking about is made by UNIQ, so i am not sure if it has the same "fail safe's" as Apollo's Lava tube, but on the same token i do not want to apply "field testing" to find out

I have this same issue with my (L-rider) LT from volcano - which has already been sent back on warranty for a looky-loo -
for background: 2yr. vaper and my LT is 6 months old ...I know there is a problem with it because it has fired on its own and fried a carto - the screen flashes odd digits ....resets itself to 3.0 mid-vape or whilst at rest (on side or upright) using standard aw 18650 batts. Trying different batts or cartos does nothing to alter the odd behavior, popping the same batt into another (younger/newer) LT and it works fine...
Having the unit returned labelled as "just fine with their batteries" on a very short trial/testing period of a scant day has me frazzled since another return will probably result in the same response.
There are multiple posts about similar issues others are having (other venues) and I have seen a notice on one vendors website in regards to a charger (UltraFire WF-139) over charging the batts - and a google search on THAT subject turns out various posts from as far back as 2007 (lighthound)
Its MY theory that the "brains" inside the LT start to wear out/burn out/disintegrate over time - this of course is just my

I am curious as to the suggestion to only use 1600 mAh batts in the LT - is there a timer type bit of the brains that records usage time when a new batt is installed?

Well it is very much appreciated. It has done nothing since that odd incident but i have caught what feels like something flopping around int here (maybe the battery) but only for a mere few seconds. I love to drip and have two LR bridgeless, and the SR with a freakishly high bridge, what i notice is when vaping the LT will get warm (naturally) and the screen seems to take on characteristics like that battery is over charged.

I am seriously going to post it in the classifieds, but my silly problem now is that with dripping and even with a LR, the two ego's i have just don't cut it when it comes to taste and TH, i need at least 6V but do not want to offer up both my arms and a foot to get a new device, so off to look i go

The Mod itself should never get warm. If it is, you should not use it.

I have noted the LT conducts the ambient temperature of the surrounding its in, if I'm in the car or very warm room, it feels warm or hot to the touch but it really isn't... the aluminium I gather

If you want to be at 6v all the time, i would get a two battery device.
