Yes....I have Singaporean patients and Malaysians who work in your country....but I will need more info from them as to where they were caught..and guess what, I am going to singapore soon to test the waters...so to speak...I have already challenged the Malaysian authority from all angles...now for Singapore...why not...??

Once i get my e-Cig i gonna smoke it in Bugis Junction. One of the hottest area in Singapore where they catch contraband cigarettes. They can try catching me and I swear i'll fight back even if it lands in court.

This is freaking ridiculous, catching something which contains purely nicotine and no tobacco as an evasion of tax. I guess i'll write to the newspapers tomorrow when i'm free regarding this issue.

This is pissing me off. real badly.

It's terrible what's happening over there with regard to e-cigs. I just hope that the government realises in the near future how useful they really are.

Governments always seem to ban things at first thought without even trying to investigate the possible benefits because they don't understand them.

Xanthos, I wouldn't be doing that too soon - it seems like a waste of a good e-cig if they confiscate it. I know you're annoyed but there are other ways of making yourself heard.

Just remember that there is no "right" to do what we do. We do so only with the permission of property owners and authorities. An authority has to only issue a decree to give arrest power for a specific action not otherwise permitted by law. If authorities decree e-smoking will not be allowed, then your protests will be futile and you could indeed end up in court.

That will not advance e-smoking in Singapore or anywhere else. Dr. Loi has set up mall demonstrations and is attempting to educate people on the health advantages of e-smoking. That's the route to take. Reason with people. Demonstrate the product. Educate the masses so they understand the benefits of what we do.

Some times, defiance is valuable currency for change. But we must spend it wisely. This is probably not a wise rebellion to undertake.

My late mother visited Singapore in the early 1980's. Although she liked it (especially the shopping), she did say it was very clean but very strict.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with your tailpiece there TB. It's because of not wanting to "rock the boat" and peoples' inability to stand up for themselves that the ban everything brigade is getting such a hold in various countries worldwide.

I happen to tell my contractor and ask him DO U BELIEVE I SUCK THIS PEN GOT SMOKE? AT FIRST HE FEEL AMAZE than split second he look more closely know is an electronic device which make the vapour

Disagreement noted, and that's fine. I'm really suggesting that we "choose the fight." Not sure this is the time and place for an individual protest. But then again, how do we get the public's ear? How can we ever get this before a public forum for a hearing? Maybe he'll be the Eve case in court? Numero Uno. And maybe a judge will overturn any order to prohibit e-smoking or confiscate his device. But I wouldn't bet on it.

I bet the gavel comes down and he is fined and loses his e-cig.

And I'd rather have Dr. Loi dragged before Singapore authorities to plead the case for legalizing e-smoking. Wouldn't you? We don't need passion when we want compassion. Choose the fight. Choose the warrior. Engage the battle.
