Hi,
Does anyone know what the law is re: e-smoking in Greece?
TIA
Does anyone know? I'm struggling on this one![]()
I can't help you Pipeman, and I need to know the same info for Spain. I don't really know where to find out, except to do as you have, ask here and keep your fingers crossed someone might know.
Good luck, let me know if you get any joy anywhere.

if it was in the media that it was banned, one of us would have heard about it so i would say the silence is golden.
Well, Spain seem pretty cool with most things nowadays, so I would imagine I'm fine. Good point DC2. Can't you just try it out and see what reaction you get Expipeman?
Hmmm - don't want to have my Intellicig confiscated by the authorities...worth a shot, though.
Put it in your hold luggage to take it into Greece, and maybe try using it where smoking is usually allowed to start with and see what reaction you get.
I don't know if Greece has implemented a smoking ban anywhere, but here in Spain they have.
I intend to check with security staff at shopping centres that they don't have a problem with me 'smoking' mine before I risk it if no clear guidelines are forthcoming for use in Spain.
I would get the name of the 'official' (or officious!) person that agreed it was okay to smoke it wherever you are unsure, in case one of their colleagues has a different opinion. At least that way you can say 'I asked so and so, and they gave me permission'.
Of course if it's not illegal to smoke it, then they would have no right to confiscate it anyway, but I'm sure you could do without the hassle of trying to prove the point and get your e-cig back!
Hola "Drag on the Magic Puff" !
(well, I'll write in English, to be polite with the rest of the forum members)
I'm from Spain too, and I've been looking for info about laws refering to e-cigs in our country.
I have to say I didn't find much, in fact, I didn't find any direct reference to e-smoking in Spanish laws...
As far as I know about our legislation (not much), if it's not specified, it cannot be illegal. The most, it could be "unlegal", than means u can do it, at your own risk.
I'm sure there is no problem at all with vaping in places where any other smoking is allowed (in Spain, we're lucky and it's still allowed in many public places).
About places where smoking tobacco is not allowed... I'm pretty sure I'll give it a try!.
Our law is very specific about what is forbidden: smoking tobacco products. As far as I know, what we vape in e-cigs is not a tobacco product, so it's not forbidden by law at all (by now... let's see what happens later if too many ppl starts using it).
Anyway, even if it's not forbidden by law, the owner of any "public" place has the last word: if they tell you to stop using your e-cig there, u should have to. But they have to tell u that u can't... if they don't say a thing...
I'm just preparing myself to give explanations if that happens (and I suppose it will).
Somebody will come and say: "sorry, smoking is not allowed here".
I suppose I'll just politely and innocently smile and say: "oh! hehehe! this is not a cigarette!, this is just an electronic vaporizer, and that "smoke" is just water soluble vapor, nothing else..., nothing that can bother other people here... does it smell like a cigarette to you?
... "
After that, it all depends on how that person will take that explanation.
I don't know it this comment may be of some utility for u o not... that's all I know till now, if I can get any more information, I'll let you know (so hope u do the same).
Hi Pegaso,
Thanks for the brilliant answer. You've pretty well summed it up I think.
Of course, to try it in public means I actually have to leave my desk and computer, and that doesn't look likely in the next week or two!
I will of course let you know of any reactions, good or bad, that I get.
My hairdresser has already ordered one though, after I was puffing on my pink 901 in her shop.
She smokes 3 packs a day!! but is getting a 901b for her father. You never know, maybe she'll end up a convert too.
Where are you, what province?
Tara
