    This country sucks.
Be careful you don't know what 11mg in a pack of pipe tobacco can turn to when concentrated. Raw tobacco leaves are the way to go with DIY... I just can't decide if I should use water or everclear.
Time to stock up on liquid I suppose!

I know.. I'll cut it tramendously... I figure this is the way the companys do it.. There's no other way unless they get the nicotine out of a potato *LOL*

Don't use Everclear when you are cooking it.. Wait until you cut it, to use it... You figure that after soaking it for at least the 24 hours (I'm thinking of letting it soak for afew days), then heating it to make the thickened juice, if you use anything other than water, it may mess it up and wreck the thickening anyway....

From the signature of a reasonably well informed member:

"When contemplating the handling of pure nicotine, the desire to do so
is inversely proportional to one's ability to handle it safely."

Just thought I'd throw that out for the heckuvit..

Best we can all do is continue writing our elected officials along with actually educating ourselves as to the political machinery of our respective countries.
Learning to work with-in our governmental systems will have much more effect in the long run than anything else.

Well, short of revolution I 'spose.

Listening to the radio yesterday and heard Tracy Chapmans "Talkin'bout A Revolution". Been some time since I heard it.
    "Don't you know
    They're talkin' bout a revolution
    It sounds like a whisper

but.. but... I like humor and fun over being informed *LOL*

Seriously, I didn't even buy my first e-ciggie until I read up on the forum and other places for 3+months.. If that's not being responsible or imformed, nuttin' is *LOL*

Sure.. Write our representatives and senators, etc in Washington.. I've done enough of writing, emailing, and phone calls to DC to last me a lifetime.. When have those in Washington EVER thought about the beliefs of those they represent?? NEVER!! It's all kickbacks... Those crooks are into the $$$$ they get and spend their time smoking cigars, drinking martinis and $2,000 bottles of old Whiskey to ever listen to us...

By the way.. I grew up in a very political family.. I learned how to write by addressing envelopes to stick flyers in for political canidates in headquarters' in Connecticut.. I grew up in the homes of Seneators and Representatives playing with their kids and listening to the way things used to be in the 60's and 70's politically locally, state-wide, and nationally.. Things have changed for the worse in this country.. No wonder i've turned into a Libertarian...

I would have to agree completely. I do not see any alternative but to learn how to make this myself before all our rights get stripped away and we have to settle for impure government paid nicotine juice at the tobacco shop or abc store or whatever. Marijuanna is becoming more legal. It is a natural medicine. Tobacco is becoming more illegal?
I'm going off subject I think
Let's get real here for a minute..

    Cigarettes = DEATH

Vaping = Something far far worse

huh? ok.. welll.. ! GOOD! I what are they gonna do about my addiction now then? They can't just make me stop vaping or force me to step down I need my nicotine. No law is ever going to stop me from getting the nicotine I need no matter how illegal it is or isn't. And it goes for smokers.. Sure it is bad for them. It was bad for me! I wanted to be off of them but I always needed my nicotine. So I could never quit.
I feel bad for smokers. I am just glad I am vaping. The government just needs to sell zero to 36mg pure flavorless nicotine and regulate it and tax it for adults. This will avoid people like us killing ourselves for our fix because the government has called it illegal and forced us to try to make it ourselves.

    Right now in fact.
The highest I have ever seen for sale is 150mg/ml
so if I assume it is 200mg/ml - to be safe... I could cut it 50/50 three times and have 25mg/m or less... Assuming it is below 200mg to begin with. Does this sound right?

If it does nothing I will try cutting it a little less each time until I get potency.

Also do you think that you could use alcohol instead of water?
Unsafe assumption and IMHO bad idea...

You should spend a lot of time in the DIY Liquid subforum here before even considering planning to attempt this, paying special attention to the banner on the forum main page... (posts there tell you how to determine mg/ml of nic liquid, among many other mundanely useful things) And/or be an experienced chemist. You WILL get things besides nicotine extracted from tobacco, but you'll likely get enough nicotine to easily kill yourself. In addition I suspect that "turn it on high and boil away all the water" will introduce enough heat to make some significant changes to the extracted chemicals.

Using the generic figure of 10mg nicotine in one cigarette, 20x10 is 200, so roughly 200mg of nicotine in a pack, which is less that the half cup this 'recipe' specifies. Presuming you get all the nicotine and only the nicotine (both of which are beyond unlikely) you'd end up with around 200mg, which (since density of nicotine is 1.01g/ml) would be about 0.2 ml in volume. Add enough PG to bring it to 1ml (yes, one ml) and you'd have 200mg/ml nic-in-pg. (if it's pure nicotine it'd be about 1010mg/ml) Cut to 25% and you've got 4ml at 50mg/ml. (of whatever, I'm utterly confident that far more than nicotine would be present - for better or for worse)

Awful lot of work (and risk) for 4ml, when I can buy 40ml of 60mg/ml premade from MyFreedomSmokes for about $31. (actually I've already got about 250ml of it stockpiled, plus another 250ml of 35mg/ml)

This act was not "passed" - it was endorsed by the committee and is being sent to the full senate for vote.

As far as I can find - it was not modified by committee - so it still does not directly affect e-cigs (again, based on the strict definitions contained within the full text of the bil).

Yea I recently saw 500mg soooooo. putting that on hold til last resort. The real thing suppliers need to be after right now is RAW CURED TOBACCO LEAVES. Since making your own from the tobacco at the store would do you know good health wise. That's all the bad stuff. Tobacco leaves are natural, not the crap they put in it. I do not believe the currently available juice will not be available forever. Regular users should stock up on juice. Suppliers and manufacturers stock up on the leaves. I was thinking about the future. Eventually they will be banned. The potential for danger here is far worse than cigarettes. Even they are or are not FDA approved and may or may not be better or worse than analogs, there is still the real danger of somebody getting a lethal dose in a purposely or accidentally mislabeled bottle of juice. I keep reading that nicotine in it's pure form can kill you. Somebody even mentioned one drop of pure nicotine on your skin can kill you. With terrorism and crap going on who knows what's really going on here...
E-cigs were invented by a Chinaman. I believe nicotine is a drug. Much like coffee gives you caffiene, vaping can give you seemingly harmless nicotine. Even it is proven to be safer one day.... We still have to know all the dangers, not just the ingredients. I believe a bill was signed today to stop the mailing of tobacco. I know Virginia has a no smoking ban on December 1st. I do believe Vaping should stay legal and let users use it at their own risk as long as they are informed of the dangers to themselves, pets, and children. 36mg should be available over the counter without prescription to adults. I also believe for safety reasons it should be heavily regulated and carefully watched. There is much potential for real danger here everyone is failing to realize. I have only been vaping three weeks. It got me completely off cigarettes, but I wasn't trying. I am addicted to nicotine through no fault of my own. I do not want to smoke a cigarette, I am willing to vape if it kills me. I do not want to be off this medicine. It keeps me from killing people. I have also reduced the amount I vape considerably once I found my proper strength. They should not be taken away, but regulated and carefully watched.
