why is everyone saying they don't think they can do anything anymore, hands are tied etc... The bill isn't law, the governator has to sign it. Flood his inbox, make him think he has more to lose that to gain by signing it. he's a politician.

Despite my problems with him and his family on the inlaw side...he will listen. There were some issues to do with the Illegal Immigration movement in California that I didn't expect him to act on. He received a LOT of mail about it....and made up his own mind in those cases. I think if he gets enough information to make an informed decision, he will....and it won't necessarily be the party line.
The form letter here is a good starting point. If you're not particularly good with words, use it. If you can state your case a little differently then do that. The only problem with form letters is they get read once. Anything that comes after that is going to have the same formatting...paragraphs...they'll recognize it without reading it....so it'll come off like a spam mail. Something is better than nothing. You don't say anything, he won't know.
PS: Odds are, he's not reading any of them....they have assistants that do that. They'll sit with a pen and a tally sheet and count the yesses and noes on each topic...then he gets the tally. One more tick in the "yes" column can only help.

No question about it -- it's an important simple step any/every one of us can take.
I certainly sent my own mini-essay on to the governator's office.
-- Let's hope his staff is awake and taking notes.

This is the dumbest thing i ever herd of.. You can never ban a e-cig its just a electronic vaporizer., but you can regulate the sale of nicotine products if you choose to by selling it by prescription only.. that way u get the drug company's and doctors involved $$$ . O then you got from a cheap source of smokes to a very expensive and cost prohibitive product that makes smoking analogue cigs very attractive.. So California wants us to buy tobacco products and not replace them with very cheap e-cigs.. What a wonderful idea.. take something thats better for you and cheaper for you and drive it into the ground.. Good job California.. they deserve it .. California is full of those bleeding heart liberals ..

Mr. Governor,
I respectfully request that you veto SB 400. This bill would ban the sale of Electronic Cigarettes in the state of California.
As a former tobacco user and current electronic cigarette user, I can personally attest to the improvements in my health that have been realized as a result of switching from burning tobacco to vaporized nicotine intake. Since switching, I have stopped coughing and have regained stamina, as well as maintaining a sense of general well-being.
I believe that, instead of banning these devices because of the unknowns involved, the people would be better served by allowing their use. There are many arguments for this position, which I will refrain from going into detail on for the sake of brevity:
-While the long-term effects of e-cigarettes are unknown, the long-term effects of cigarettes are widely known.
-Current tobacco alternatives have a very low success rate with keeping consumers off of tobacco.
-While citizens of California appreciate the efforts taken by their government for their protection, they enjoy having the personal freedom to make choices. This bill, while not monumental in the overall political picture, chips away at personal freedom.
-Many Californians currently use electronic cigarettes both as tobacco replacement and as part of a tobacco cessation strategy.
Please, have faith in the judgment of your citizens. Don't let the senate take away some of the personal freedom we cherish.
Thank you for your time

I sent my email. As much as I dislike our Governor, at least he does sometimes go with the will of the people rather than his own agenda. I'm hoping this will be one of those times.
