I used to watch 60 minutes and night line a long time ago.
I saw them do a few episodes on topics of which I have expertise.
When I saw how far off the mark they were, I lost my desire to watch those shows.

It'll take more than that for me to vote for Palin.

All suppliers should send complimentary kits to people in public view that smoke (include samples of different flavors, let them see for themselves it's not an enticment for children, but an enjoyable variety for adults). Even go one better. Suppliers could have a petition page where customers could write how e-cigs have helped them find a healthier way to use nicotine. Print out those pages and send them along.

There is nothing in a e-cig that is not already in an analog, but there is plenty in an analog that is not in a e-cig!

(yes, Propylene glycol is already in analogs, as are many different flavorings, as well as all those other chemicals and additives).

A few may say it's not cost fesable, but a ban will be worse.

Once again people making excuses for his inaction regarding a federal agencies flagrantly corrupt and unethical behavior. You will NEVER sell me on the idea that what the FDA is doing is ok. Their job is not to selectively nanny us into oblivion because of political pressure and CLEARLY financial motivations. It is Obama's DUTY to reign in the FDA. I keep hearing "untested" What about New Zealand? What about South Africa? What about the FDA's own tests (that before being spun pretty much prove our point) What planet are you living on where that equates to untested?

Do you always thank your rapist? Or only the rapist you voted in?

I am so completely disgusted by this attitude of: Oh well the feds can't be wrong. It's not our job to keep the government in check. ecigs are fringe issue. This isn't important.

Go ahead. Choose the path of least resistance. Keep your heads in the sand and see where that gets you. When we all end up with bar codes tattooed on our foreheads I will be the first person to say "I told you so."
But I'd trade it all for just a little peace of mind..

    Sorry Mac,
Your bar code does not allow you the freedom of expressing confrontational statements such as, " told you so"

There's a distinct lack of realism going on in this thread. Everyone should go back a page and read TropicalBob's posts. Though we'd all love for the president to take up our personal pet issues, that's just not how the system works. We have more power to effect the attitudes of our local and state governments than we do the White House. Getting angry at the feds seems counter productive when that energy would be better spent lobbying locally.

Actually a few of us did send kits to Obama (also the Governator and a few key political figures who could help sway public opinion) Personally, I sent an e-cigar to Arnold and got a nice letter back. The 510 we sent to Obama was accepted and I got a form letter back with some comments about how "gifts are not tax deductible, blah blah blah"

I'm certainly not above donating a few more kits to a similar effort, but I think they should be as part of a concentrated effort by CASAA. We're not going to convice any politician to go against the grain, but swaying public opinion and giving e-cig users a "face" will go a long way toward turning conventional wisdom and changing how the public views e-cigs.

THAT is what will sway politicians - not brow beating and pointing out the obvious fact. If any of this were logical analogs would be banned because we know they cause cancer. they are not, therefore there is a surreal double standard and you have to just accept that and move to plans of attack that transcend the usual intellectual arguments.

This isn't the real world - it's government.

Don't we have a Lobby agency that works for us? Some people giving them thousands of Dollars?? Why can't they get Press passes and Ask the president questions like this?
